Near and Far adds two new followers: A female Argonian, and a female Khajiit.

I used to work in a group, but we've since drifted apart, but I'll always remember: "It's never easy and never impossible to reinvent yourself." Every day you can strive to reinvent yourself, but it's a process. You can't wait for the end to feel accomplished.
Near and Far adds two unique followers to Skyrim Special Edition. There didn't seem to be any female Argonian or Khajiit followers, and you can marry either of these, so huzzah for diversity. Woo. Instead of just adding a ton of new followers to every inn, it's just these two. The creator would've liked to have added involved quests to recruit them, but that would have required inaccessible resources, such as knowledge of complex Skyrim Creation Club editing and voice actors.
Bridge-Too-Far is an Argonian, a specialist in two-handed weapons, and a specialist in light armor. Her reference ID should be xx000D68. She should be located in the Silver-Blood Inn in Markarth.
La'niir is a Khajiit who dual-wields (possibly) one-handed weapons and prefers light armor. Her reference ID should be xx000D69. She should be found prowling the Windpeak Inn in Dawnstar.
Both are marked "Essential" and given the "Light Foot" perk to try and abstain from annoying things that AI likes to do, such as repeatedly triggering the same trap, or inexplicably vanishing into a wormhole and coming out dead at your wedding. You know, "features".

So basically the modder's original vision was to have two female beastfolk followers to fill out the missing gaps and make them as Lore-friendly as someone who's only played Skyrim and has access to the UESP wiki can manage. Ideally, they would've had quests to accompany them on in order to recruit them. Bridge-Too-Far would have been lurking around Markarth, doing odd hunting jobs to get by, whereas La'niir would've been lurking around Dawnstar's periphery. You'd fulfill a quest for each to recruit them, and once both were recruit-able, you could fulfill their immediate agenda with another quest. Then comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes---you get the idea.

[2021-03-8 Update:] La'niir has been moved to Falkreath from Dawnstar because otherwise I'd never visit Falkreath, and there's already plenty reason to visit Dawnstar. So sayeth the modder.
