B.U.G.S.
B.U.G.S., or "Beyond Unbound, Game Start extension" lets you play as a non-Dragonborn. The options for non-Dragonborn are in MCM menu, familiar to Skyrim Unbound users. So far this mod requires SkyUI for the purpose of the MCM menu.

You may want to use another mod to set up an alternate start; or else you will start on the cart as in vanilla. If you use ASLAL, there is a file variant for ASLAL in the files, if you use it there will be a Mara statue dialogue option... pretty much just to remind you to use MCM menu.

If you already started a game, you still can use the "B.U.G.S." MCM menu to change the settings. So long as you haven't started the main quest "Dragon Rising", it should be okay.

Civil War without Main Quest: there's no detour during "Message To Whiterun" if you didn't do main quest: playing on stormcloak side, convince Jarl Balgruuf to align with stormcloaks. That's a twofer.

Thaneship of Whiterun: for non-Dragonborn, you get a quest to be the thane of Whiterun after fighting Mirmulnir the dragon in quest "Dragon Rising". You start a regular thane quest by talking to Jarl Balgruuf; Breezehome will be available to buy when you begin it, Lydia will appear when you complete it.

Miscellanous

The infamous Mirmulnir death scream is no longer "Dovahkiin? No!!", obviously. In the current mod version, also if you are a Dragonborn.

Dragons can be enabled early on, delayed by game time or levels; this shouldn't be game breaking. Up to you - jarl Balgruuf still speaks of "rumors of dragons" when you meet him first.

You won't be summoned by the Greybeards after killing any dragon. In this B.U.G.S. version you have to be a Dragonborn during "Dragon Rising" for the main quest to continue.

With jarl Balgruuf aligned with Stormcloaks, should you lose Whiterun to imperials (may be possible with some civil war mods), expect imperial-aligned jarl Hrongar to claim the seat under the skull of Numinex.

Known Issues

- Generally should not need patches for quest mods to prevent them from calling you "Dragonborn"

- Civil War Overhaul - if you lose Whiterun, if you haven't done Dragon Rising main quest already, you will need to regain Whiterun in order to advance main quest

- possible rare bugs when convincing Balgruuf to join Stormcloak, as it skips the combat part of the battle but changes the hold ownership all the same
