Have you ever found thousands of ores and leathers in your inventory that took ages to convert to ingots and leather strips one by one?
Have you ever wondered why a big piece of Dwemer metal gives you only 2 ingots?
Or (optional) have you ever found the creation of steel ingots a bit senseless and the charcoal useless?
Then this mod is for you!
Two version available (choose only one): New steel recipes and Vanilla steel recipes
Both versions contain these changes/additions:
All ingot recipes can be found in smelters, leather strips recipes can be found in tanning racks.
Extract in the Data folder or use a mod manager.
Tested on Skyrim v1.5.97, no addons required.

New steel version
- 2 Firewood = 1 Charcoal stick
- 10 Firewood = 5 Charcoal stick
- 20 Firewood = 10 Charcoal stick
- 50 Firewood = 25 Charcoal stick
- 1 Iron ore + 2 Charcoal stick = 1 Steel ingot
- 5 Iron ore + 10 Charcoal stick = 5 Steel ingot
- 10 Iron ore + 20 Charcoal stick = 10 Steel ingot
- 20 Iron ore + 40 Charcoal stick = 20 Steel ingot
- (Removed 1 Iron Ore + 1 Corundum Ore = 1 Steel ingot)
Vanilla steel version
- 1 Iron Ore + 1 Corundum Ore = 1 Steel ingot (as vanilla)
- 10 Iron Ore + 10 Corundum Ore = 10 Steel ingot
- 20 Iron Ore + 20 Corundum Ore = 20 Steel ingot
- 50 Iron Ore + 50 Corundum Ore = 50 Steel ingot
Both versions contain these changes/additions:
Corundum
- 10 Corundum Ore = 5 Corundum Ingot
- 20 Corundum Ore = 10 Corundum Ingot
- 50 Corundum Ore = 25 Corundum Ingot
Dwarven (replacement)
- 1 Solid Dwemer metal = 10
20Dwarven Metal Ingot (instead of 5) - 1 Large Dwemer strut = 6
15Dwarven Metal Ingot (instead of 3) - 1 Large decorative Dwemer strut = 4
10Dwarven Metal Ingot (instead of 2)
Ebony
- 10 Ebony Ore = 5 Ebony Ingot
- 20 Ebony Ore = 10 Ebony Ingot
- 50 Ebony Ore = 25 Ebony Ingot
Gold
- 10 Gold Ore = 5 Gold Ingot
- 20 Gold Ore = 10 Gold Ingot
- 50 Gold Ore = 25 Gold Ingot
Iron
- 2 Iron Ore = 1 Iron Ingot (correction)
