I had thought that everyone should know that by now and do it right, but that's not the case.
Unfortunately, I still find with more than 50% of the mods I test (be it because I translate them, or I want to play them) that even very experienced modders treat this carelessly, don't do it at all, or do it only partially, and, even though they are theoretically familiar with it, still have bugs in their published mod versions that they didn't notice (classic answer: "why, it runs on me though" or "does that cause a CTD?", or even more blatant a modder answered: "can't see the relevance").
These errors do not always have to cause a CTD, it is enough if single graphic elements are not loaded or scripts do not run correctly, which is only ever detected if you are specifically at the location ingame, i.e. this graphic element or script is loaded.
Anyone who focuses all their attention only on whether a CTD is taking place is met with incomprehension from me.
So I have now expanded the instruction and went into even more detail, so that really every modder and user can do it right:
