OK here's an easy way to make a patch for those of us that use Skyrim 3D Trees and Plants.
1/ Create a new empty mod in your mod manager and name it something like 3D Trees Snowberry Patch then open it in Windows Explorer. 2/ Create a folder structure as follows: meshes\landscape\plants\s3dplants\harvestables 3/ Open the 3D Snowberries mod (or the newer Sufficiently Optimised Snowberries, also by wSkeever) in Windows Explorer 4/ Navigate to the folder meshes\plants. There are 5 .nif files in there: florasnowberry01.nif florasnowberry01snow.nif florasnowberry02.nif florasnowberry02snow.nif snowberry.nif 5/ Copy these 5 mesh files to the folder you created in step 2 6/ Rename the copied files, adding s3dplants_ at the beginning of each filename, so you end up with the following: s3dplants_florasnowberry01.nif s3dplants_florasnowberry01snow.nif s3dplants_florasnowberry02.nif s3dplants_florasnowberry02snow.nif s3dplants_snowberry.nif 7/ Activate the new mod in your mod manager. Since these are loose files and the originals from S3Dplants are in a BSA, these will always overwrite, though it probably makes sense to place it lower down than S3Dplants anyway.
God bless you... any god, IDC... but thanks! the snowberry issue was my biggest issue; it probably bothered me more than it should, but hey, its fixed now.
but: do you or anyone else know why there are still textureless pink-white bushes in and around Whiterun? I assumed they were tied in to snowberries because of the very similar look, but no dice. I assume its a different type of bush not being properly addressed by S3D like the snowberries, but I cant find which one
Just wanted to add a heartfelt THANK YOU! for posting this. Purple snowberries were driving me nuts, and I'd completely forgotten I'd installed 3d plants and trees.
I now have red berries and am ridiculously happy to see them.
if im being completely honest the Snowberries themselves look soo much better on this mod then on Sufficiently Optimized Snowberries 3D, true the leaves look a little better on that one but visually these berry's just look better...
i think its cause the berry's themselves are larger so they appear less blocky and more rounded
I completely agree with this. The snowberries in 3D Snowberries look fantastic, but the ones in Sufficiently Optimized Snowberries 3D are way too bright and shiny. I'll be staying with this one for a long time; it's at the top of my quality-of-life list.
ooh cool thanks so much. Another question, as I'm a noob. I'm retexturing the berries and I'm wondering how you handled it to disappear upon picking? It looks like there's something extra to format in alpha as they appear at 12% opacity if opened in Photoshop, full opacity if render alpha as channel instead of transparency. Thanks so much
I live in NE Ohio, and saw the Middletown, OH and thought "Oh sweet I live near there". lol I see these plants every now and again and as soon as I looked at the reference picture I had immediate flashbacks of seeing this irl plant frequently. A nice blast of nostalgia :) B.A.Utiful mod also. Although to be honest, I may, or may not be able to use this mod in casual gameplay since my computer isn't the BEST, but I think it should hold. Thanks and a thumbs up! Also for being the only 3D model replacer I see here.
There needs to be something higher than "Endorse." That just does not communicate how much I love this. It's the small things, you see, and these plants, which seem to be everywhere, irritate the hell out of me. No more. Kudos, thanks, gracias, merci, ULTRA-ENDORSE.

6/ Rename the copied files, adding s3dplants_ at the beginning of each filename, so you end up with the following:

s3dplants_florasnowberry01snow.nif
s3dplants_florasnowberry02.nif
s3dplants_florasnowberry02snow.nif
s3dplants_snowberry.nif
7/ Activate the new mod in your mod manager. Since these are loose files and the originals from S3Dplants are in a BSA, these will always overwrite, though it probably makes sense to place it lower down than S3Dplants anyway.
All the other suggestions want you to unpack everything

/meshes/plants/florasnowberry01.nif (7BSShaderTextureSet)
textures/plants/Snowberry01_new.dds -> textures/plants/Snowberry_new.dds
textures/plants/Snowberry01_new_n.dds -> textures/plants/Snowberry_new_n.dds
/meshes/plants/florasnowberry01snow.nif (7BSShaderTextureSet)
textures/plants/Snowberry01_new_n.dds -> textures/plants/Snowberry_new_n.dds
Thanks for bringing more 3D realism to Skyrim.
