As always, save your game before you try out a mod, my mod is no exception.

Don't forget to unlock the Skyrim borders.

It is explained in the Read Me txt file how.
After installing, save your game and restart your saved game. Otherwise you won't hear dialogues from NPC's

Haafstad and the Border on Youtube
Haafstad and the Border of High Rock by Frosty on Youtube

Also downloadable from this site: Alternate Start Extension Haafstad gives you the opportunity to start a new life with your character in one of these locations! Credits go to Arthmoor, jknjb and Izzik!

    Compatible with:
    BS Bruma
    Beyond Reach

With the latest version (6.4th one):
    - Dealt with errors and deleted unnecessary files
    - Dealt with lighting issues in interiors
    - Some houses have proper namings

Hopefully this mod runs a bit better now.

This might be because I use the flora overhaul mod but... there's tall grass freaking EVERYWHERE on Kirkmore! The paths and towns are all completely overgrown! I can't even find anything in town! The forge is hidden by grass! (Talk about a fire hazard!) Is there a compatibility patch that removes grass from towns and roads?

Hey. Don't know why. But in the 6.4 version, the road through jehanna to haafstaad is blocked off by a tower and several boulders. I don't have any other mods that would be interfering with that area to my knowledge. Also when I did try to add seapoint in. Part of the dock disappears and is replaced with water and some of the guards sink halfway into the dock. But the malfunction in Jehanna is present with and without seapoint installed. Could you possibly do a patch for those issues?

It was Blades reborn quest mod conflicting...that mod has its own version fo jehanna with docks and all . It still clips at Seapoint so I guess I'll forgo those additions. I'm running close to the limit of mods I can use anyway.

Is it safe to convert ESP to ESM? Because I have a huge load order and have reached 850,000 reference (limite are 100K). This one  alone takes up around 50K.

Yes, but in my LO, some other mod (esp) massively breaks landscape if loaded after this, still didn't figure which one

In building my load order, I have exceeded the 2^20 limit.  In paring down, Haafstad and the Border of High Rock will probably be sidelined until something else can be disabled, or until I can figure out how to turn Jehanna.esp into an ESM.  It can't be as easy as just flagging it as an ESM... Can it?

The reference handle cap, or diagnosing one of the causes of infinite load screens/CTDs on very heavy load orders

To reduce the weight of my load order, I chose this heavy one to disable.  Maybe when I have played through a lot of other new lands, I will disable them, and enable Haafstad and the Border of High Rock.

The ideal solution would be for Haafstad and the Border of High Rock to be offered as an ESM.  This should have never been an ESP.  In the reddit link I provided, the examples given have all changed to ESM, as this should.

it is worth to test, as SSEEdit says
      - count loaded refs in load order
      => 44597 temporary and 913 persistent (45510 total) loaded references in [03] Jehanna.esp
You may test it. Set Jehanna.esp by SSEEdit the flag for ESM (only set the flag, don't change extension) and run LOOT again to get correct load order, and then look if it works or if you get unwanted results (i.e. graphic).
Also run in SSEEdit Script "set_unique_NPCs_persistent" (this do in general for all)

alternatively (or in additon) you may reduce the current refs by this
Save Cleaner - CTD Fix and Cell Reset

load in SSEEdit, add flag for ESM, also run script "set unique NPCs persistent", run SSEEditQuickAutoClean.exe, done. - Don't forget to let LOOT make a new load order (it may be, that you need to tweak this, as depending from other mods as being ESM it may conflict with grafics you have installed, i.e. Mayestetic Mountains. The you may need a patch)

Just to warn people interested in this mod. I dont know why but the mod has an insanely high amount of references (45510 total). I turned it into ESM to clear most of it, but now that I checked Haafstad it seems to have broken the ground and NPCs are swimming. Personally I am also not a fan of how close to Harkon`s castle that town is, so I wont be using the mod. Basically what I am saying is that this is not a good mod for busy load orders.

For me that mod works fine, the References I manage with SSEEdit and other. But you may test if the flag for ESM gives success. No reason to warn. The mod is fine.

just testing it with ESM-Flag and new load order, not yet detect a problem.
      SSEEdit shows comparison:
as ESP: 44597 temporary and 913 persistent (45510 total) loaded references
with ESM-Flag: 0 temporary and 1121 persistent (1121 total) loaded references

This really needs a version where the High rock Knights and Guards are wearing the unenchanted Breton Paladin armor... :)

yes or really just about any heavy armor replacement, vanila steel armor is very disapointing.

Cant mod myself for reasons, but if anyone has a patch, pls share.

This is a cool mod, though it feels a little half-baked in places. Despite that, the landscape is probably some of the best I've seen, akin to some professional level-design. It felt like I was traveling in a place in High Rock like in my ESO days (except better because no zone chat).
