In my own opinion, Dawnbreaker is one of the coolest weapons and a staple in any build. But it was rather lackluster in the base game, and got no love with the Dawnguard DLC, while an enchantment that's arguably just as good as Dawnbreaker's own was added, but stuck onto an axe that you have to go through the Dawnguard half of the DLC to get and isn't really worth it at that point. In games past I've just gone through the effort to create a custom enchanted version and called it "True Dawnbreaker", but it was never really worth it with numerous mods needed just to make one weapon. So, inspired by a mod called True Gifts from Oblivion, I decided to spend the time to tweak the actual Dawnbreaker with the enchantments I feel it needs to be complete.
This mod needs nothing more than the Dawnguard DLC. Originally it was made as a complementary mod for a now deleted mod named True Gifts from Oblivion. I'm not sure when it was taken down, and it's a shame it was too because it was a really good mod, but mine does not require it to work so at least that is okay.
Required:
Dawnguard DLC
Changes:
Weapon Speed increased to 1.15 (from 1)
Weapon Weight decreased to 5 (from 10)
Infinite Enchantment Charge
Counts as an Ebony Weapon
Damage increased to 18 (from 12)
Crit Damage increased to 12 (from 6)
Fire Damage increased to 15 (from 10)
Increased magnitude for Meridia's Retribution to 2.5 *Unsure if makes a difference*
Added Silver Weapon Enchantment for a bonus 10 damage to undead
Added Dawnguard Rune Axe enchantment for added Sun Damage based on number of undead killed.
Make sure to load this AFTER any other mod that affects Dawnbreaker. There shouldn't be any other mod issues, be sure to let me know if any occur and I'll address them if I can.
This is the first in a series of True Daedric Artifact mods I'm making. I'm trying to rework/rebalance most every Daedric Artifact, even those other mods may have ignored in an attempt to make them all items that any Dragonborn would gladly equip and use even in late game. Please feel free to leave comments on which you would like to see next, as well as any ideas you might have for them or my existing mods to make them better. Here's links to my other mods if you like this one and want to check out my other work:
