About this mod

Empowered throwing axe that comes back as you may not expect

Permissions and credits
Everything below applies to both the Sovereign and the Leviathan

The Sovereign is a GoW/Thor-style throwing axe. It is a prototype and one of a kind, being no other weapon in Skyrim performs like this
I felt this was too unique to not have available in some capacity, but it is retired as I am not making mods for the foreseeable future

Usage: Attack button to swing normally. Hold the attack button for under 1.5 seconds to throw it, or over 1.5 seconds for a melee power swing. When thrown it whirls out of your hand spinning, and will come back to your hand whether it hits a foe, a wall, the ground, or nothing in flight. It  turns full circle and comes back to you like a boomerang, at which point it can be thrown again. It is very lethal. It has its own killmove that will decapitate eligible targets on throws with a volley of electrical bombardment, and is arguably or definitely a bit OP. If someone is essential it instead knocks them out with a quick zap to avoid any concerns there

Location: A fire pit will be South of Rorikstead on a bluff. Like any weapon, the axe can be consoled, but like the Bloodskaal Blade, this one is setup to communicate with unique refs, so like the blade, only the unique one is empowered, aka only the unique obtained one is throwable. Wanted to mention that since this got asked some in a beta release.  To avoid conflicts I made the map marker appear a moment afterwards at runtime. If not seen on the map immediately just reload once or visit a hold like Markarth real quick to refresh the map. When visited, a Helgen-like near-death situation occurs at which point the Sovereign shall arrive and decide to either help the demons finish you off, or zap their asses back to Oblivion. It seems to really hate Deadra though since it always chooses the latter for me

NFAQ - Not frequently asked since covering here :)

Q: Why not use Thor weapon or other models
A: Original plan was to present a new playstyle and expand greatly from there, aka the models at the time previously were not the focus. You are free to replace models with anything you wish however. Good news though it would seem there is a Leviathan with open permission so made an optional where it replaces the model with it

Q: How do I replace a model
A: You can do this in Nifskope. You need to copy over shapes of desired models to the weapon/projectile/activator nifs so they will look alike and spin as needed. You cant just replace files. You need Skope, and for me to do it requires models have permissions, but it only takes a few moments to do this

Q: Why is ABC visual quirk happening
A: Skyrim was not made with the intent of a throwing axe like this being a thing and TBH until I made this I wasnt sure this could even be pulled off. I was very pleased to see that it can be done :)  and IMO things like best-to-use-in-3rd-person and such is more than worth having something like this available to us. Areas of notice for tweaks here or there may pop up, but these quirks are rather trivial and dont impact the mod play-wise

Q: OMG no axe! Whered it go!?
A: Rarely, and I notice this on tree stumps more than anything some reason, yes the axe kinda just goes on vacation. A failsafe is in place so 15 seconds max and that axe is back in your hand no matter what, so rest easy

Q: The Leviathan model is a bit bulky in my hand
A: I didnt want it to be shorter than the Sovereign I guess but its rly easy to tweak the size of the FPS model in nifskope should you desire

Q: Okay cool intro and def has that Helgen-about-to-die-vibe and all, but yeah we like Alternate Start mods for a reason. Can we possibly skip this?
A: Since this does not require crafting (which is its own time sink to gather materials etc) I figure a 90 second lore-friendly introduction for something like this was an acceptable tradeoff, and just magically in inventory is a frowned on practice. Not to mention it took a long time to perfect that scene heh

Q: The kill move is pretty neat but maybe a little repetitive. Mix it up some maybe?
A: That describes a lot of spells and weapons in the game. There are two KMs actually, just one only happens on giants and some undead I believe. Think of this as any other weapon, that just also packs a really powerful bonus capability should you wish to ab\use it

Q: Why has no one done this before since obviously it is very possible? What took so long for us to finally get to see something like this?
A: Like many concepts, its simply a matter of someone thinking of it, or in this case, figuring out a way to actually make it happen. I def had to think out of some big boxes to do this one

Q: LE?
A: I found SSE handles this very well compared to LE. It is pretty intense to make this happen, and while its made efficiently it is doing a lot so I recommend it only on SSE and only support it there for that reason

I hope you guys enjoy this. As said I had a beta before and since did a few touchups and decided its best to leave this be as is. Its one of the ones I am more proud of and I wanted to have it out there for folks to enjoy

Dragon chasing and decapitation was in beta and is the one exception on a possible update if I can get around to squaring some issues. Its too epic IMO lol

Credits to Ghosu for the Leviathan model which is an optional download. The original is Nexus 91351 and is not needed to use it here.   Happy modding guys
