This mod changes the armours of hold guards in specific hold to different types of armours and weapons (listed below). I made this mod because I always felt the guards had very little visual personality, especially behind those full face helmets. I have also made it so that every hold's Civil War Guards (the ones that take over as you conquer more holds) now use their hold's new armours and weapons, except in Haafingar and Eastmarch.

List of changes:
  • Eastmarch Guards have both sleeveless and sleeved versions of the normal Eastmarch Guard set, seeing as they are esentiall Stormcloaks anyways, and having them wear militia uniforms is appropriate. They use their normal levelled weapon sets.
  • Falkreath Guards wear Scaled Armour due to the hold's prime environment for hunting and its (relatively) warmer climate. They use their old default levelled weapons based on the state of the Civil War.
  • Haafingar Guards wear full Imperial plate and have the closed helmets. I always felt that the closed-face Imperial heavy helmet went under-used. They use standard Imperial gear.
  • Hjaalmarch Guards wear Ancient Nord Armour that is unobtainable by the player. The armour set feels at home in the swampy terrain and nearly xenophobic community that is Morthal, especially given their very "traditional" values. They use Ancient Nord weapons regardless of the state of the Civil War as well.
  • Guards in the Pale wear Nordic Carved Armour seeing as there is a prominent quicksilver mine in Dawnstar, and the big fur collars pair well with the colder climate there. They use Nordic weaponry to match their armour.
  • Guards in the Reach use Dwarven Armour and weapons because... obviously. What else would you give them?
  • Guards in the Rift wear unobtainable Thieves Guild Armour due to Maven's influence in the city, and the presence of the Guild. They also wear the Variant02 hood, the bigger hood that matches the default armour (I'm not sure if it is obtainable from their corpses/pickpocket). They use standard weapons based on the state of the Civil War.
  • Whiterun Guards wear Dragonscale Cuirasses with Dragonplate helmets, boots and gauntlets due to Dragonsreach's history and the first battle against a dragon being in Whiterun Hold (and my own personal bias of Whiterun being the best city). They use Dragonbone Weapons to match their armour regardless of the state of the Civil War.
  • Winterhold Guards now all carry their shield, making it far less rare. They use full Steel armour and Weapons.


I have also changed the armour of Balgruuf to be Dragonplate, with a Dragonbone Sword.
