Hey all, I loved this mod on LE and came quickly to find it for SE; however, Nexus gives me the message that it doesn't recognize the original mod as required for this one's install (Nexus will not download the mod - unless I do it manually). Note: I do not have LE installed here: this is a new PC and I've moved on to SE, finally.
In short, I'm not quite sure how to complete the installation here. I did complete the download manually as mentioned above, extracted the files to the Data folder, but I think I missed something. I did check the game after install, and while the textures were improved, they definitely were not of the quality of the original mod (as alluded to by Wolfman). Any thoughts/help?
I'm a little tech-stupid on SE, so take pity on a old man:-)
I really appreciate the work you put in here. Consistency has become quite important to me. I noticed though that there doesn't seem to be a retexture for the dwarven mace. Do you plan to include one in the future?
I have only covered the stuff that Cabal covered in his Dwarven Retexture. I hope to come back to it and finish out the pieces one of these days, but RL is keeping my busy. In the meantime Xtudo covered a bunch of the other items. You should check it out.
thx for pointing me towards this on reddit, I rarely use heavy armor but this absolutely make the NPCs using it look more in line with the rest of the ADM stuff. Cruel to make us choose between original purple and the other cool options though (that was a joke :P)
AWESOME! I just was planning to do it for my game, and here it is, thanks for sharing.
I just uploaded a mod that patch some clutter and dungeons dwemer textures to fit the color palette of the Ancient Dwemer Metal mod too. It includes Dawnguard, Dragonborn, SMIM and vanilla textures. I also included a link for your mod, as recommended download.

Just one tip, you saved the textures with alpha channel, and it's not needed, this doubles their size in Mb (for example the "dwarvenarmor.dds", after removing the alpha channel, it went from 22Mb to 11Mb keeping the same image quality). Maybe you can optimize the textures for the next release. Nothing to serious, just reporting. I'm doing the optimization for my game right now.
No, they should work just fine. The main difference in textures between LE and SE is compression. There are some exceptions to this logic. When conversion is required or in doubt, you can run the meshes and textures for mods through Cathedral Assets Optimizer (CAO).
These textures will work with Cathedral Armory meshes, but the cubemap will be mis-matched. A lot of the color is from SRW0's cubemap. I'd recommend letting Ancient Dwemer Metal overwrite Cathedral Armory, and then copying the cubemap from Ancient Dwemer Armor and renaming it so that it overwrites cathedral's cubemap (sr_dwarven_e.dds).
do I need to download that separately then? as I noticed you have not included the cube maps with the weapon and armor set. or could permissions not be obtained?
Is that why it is "Basically required to get the intended look" for the cube map?
Wouldn't that mod need to be ported properly due to it having meshes?
Yes, you have to download it separately. It was made to be used alongside Ancient Dwemer Metal, which retextures just about all the dwemer metal in the game. I made this mod so that I could have weapons and armor that looked the same as the rest of the metal in SRW0's mod.
You could use it alongside another Dwemer metal retexture or vanilla, but it won't match anything else.
As far as I know, the meshes in ADM don't need to be optimized and it can be installed directly. I'm using it that way in my current modlist.

And again, thanks for sharing, Kudos for you!
That green option is really nice!!

and Noble Skyrim, so it's not a good idea to match em up with this?
