About this mod

Makes Aicantar, the apprentice in Understone Keep, an instant follower.

Permissions and credits
This makes Aicantar, the apprentice in Understone Keep, an instant follower and marriageable.

Features:

  • Removed level cap, so he will now level indefinitely in proportion to you.
  • Added marry and follow factions. His voice type is one of the marriable ones already, so you’re set there.
  • Copied his perk fix from USSEP
  • Made no other changes to his npc record. He naturally levels with the player and is always 1/2 the player's strength. He’s a bit weak but he has a good heart :D
  • Did nothing to his vanilla appearance. Thus he should be compatible with any body mods, appearance mods, etc. that do NOT mess with his NPC record.
  • Kept him nonessential for testing purposes, but he's easy enough to make essential via console.
  • Now in both Essential and Nonessential .esl forms, so no wasted load order space. Only pick one.

WARNING:
You MUST install this BEFORE entering Understone Keep for the first time for it to work correctly. You do not need a new game, you just need to not have physically entered the keep itself in your current game. If you have already entered Understone Keep, going back to a save right before entering will work too, that cell just can't have loaded yet.

If it's too late or you don't want to go back,  there are several other mods that let you dynamically add followers. A few I've used with success are listed below:
  • EFF Extensible Follower Framework
  • Proteus
  • Make NPC to Follower Batch files

I plan to write a simple quest for him that lets you win his favor, but that's a ways away. Until then, enjoy.

To install, just download with your mod manager or drop the file into your data folder. To remove, unfollow him and/or console-divorce him first and then do a clean save. He may still be an ally after that though, so if you want him neutral, you'll need to adjust that via console.

He's been fully tested as both a follower and married during the thieves’ guild quest. The results to me aren't game breaking, but having him around can have some amusing consequences if you try to bring him ( or any other followers) into a certain dungeon. As for the quest he's directly involved in, let’s just say he's now more loyal to you than to his uncle...
