READ THIS BEFORE WRITING A COMMENT ABOUT LORE-FRIENDLINESS: I created this mod mainly for the bad-ass looks and not much for lore - I want my masks to have another flavor other than VANILLA. I want them to look evil as Dragon Priests are supposed to be on the top of the food-chain in Skyrim. The design was intended to completely divert away from the vanilla style. Each would be totally unique - I avoided using the same pattern or recycling the same look with just different colors (unlike other existing Dragon Priest Masks mods). I also diversified the styles by using different materials from organic flesh to bone, fur, metal, implants, etc. - applied in a non-symmetrical way (with flaws and imperfections) to further enhance their individuality and uniqueness.
For those who want to manually use and select their preferred mask only, here is the list of the dds texture files corresponding to each mask. You can choose to delete the ones that you don't like, or the ones that you deem "not-so-lore-friendly" while keeping the others. Or you can simply avoid extracting them from the archive in the first place. helmet_bronze.dds - Krosis helmet_corundrum.dds - Volsung helmet_ebony.dds - Nahkriin helmet_greenstone.dds - Rahgot helmet_iron.dds - Hevnoraak helmet_marble.dds - Otar helmet_moonstone.dds - Mororkei helmet_steel.dds - Vokun helmet_wood.dds - Wooden Mask If you want to apply some "lore" on these masks to make them more "fit" to the personality of the Dragon Priest, you may interchange the mask textures by simply renaming the files appropriately (except Konahrik). -skyrimaguas
Do the masks work with regular hoods? If I give them to a follower, will he/she wear them?
Reason: I am using that other mod "The Dark Arts" where you can customize each one of your undead summons, and, you guessed it, I was hoping to have 1 or 2 wearing hoods and those masks (the other 2 undead shall have closed demonic steel helmets from different mods).
Just spent the last 30 mins trying to get this to work with improved closed faced helmets and finally got it working. Here's what I did for those of you who are trying to do the same. Open SSEdit, right click and choose select none, then select improved closed faced helmet and any patches for it Once background loading is finished go into improved closed face helmet by clicking the little + icon next to it (repeat this step and the next ones for any patches for ICH) go into armor addons shift click anything that says dragonpriest, dragonpriest AA, or anything like that (you can safely ignore those that say DLC2/3dragonpriest or Mirrak as those aren't changed by this mod) right click and select remove, when the warning pops up say yes I know what im doing then go into armors this will be easier to tell what to delete as the actual names for the masks are shown, simply shift click all the masks changed by this mod and right click , delete save changes, exit SSEdit then redeploy if your using vortex like me Tada now this nightmare inducing mod will work with improved closed faced helmets, have fun guys
Stupid question, maybe? does the standalone version still override textures for the masks the priests drop, or are they specific to the crafted ones from this mod?
Yeah, I get that. Maybe a better way to word my question: Do the dragon priests actually have their masks equipped, or are their masks just part of the Dragon Priest Model? Basically meaning the dragon priests would look the same as before, and the loot item would look different. Hopefully what i'm saying makes sense here lol
I think for example many of the draugr outfits are part of there models
