Question: exactly how much does Speech improve shout effectiveness? A percentage in the description would have been nice. If it's more than 1% strength per speech skill level, then it's too much. Oh, before I forget, excellent mod, dude! I've played with Vokrii up until this point, and I prefer your mod now. The way I see it, this is how the vanilla perks should have been all along.
have been using ordinator for 2 years now. And yes I got to say well when all is said and done, I haven't used half of the perks of ordinator. Been looking for a replacement but nothing quite tickles me. So, I reckon I am going to try this now. See whether it tickles me pink. (:. So, thanks for your efforts in advance. Gonna let you know how it comes out.
I've always hated Ordinator because it was adding even more perks that I'd never be able to grab unless I abuse the hell out of Legendary. It just over-complicates everything. The amount of perks should be reduced, not increased. Mods like Adamant or Vokrii are better than Ordinator, but something like this is even better than those. Glad to see some others agree with my mod philosophy; I have an extremely similar perk mod to this one, which I made for myself, but never released it because I never really finished it. It's in a playable state, but not really finished and I make edits to it a lot.
Getting rid of ranks and having perks scale with skill level opens up a lot more options for your character; players can take perks that are usually ignored due to point limitations. Who actually dips into Pickpocket for Extra Pockets? Not me, I always have to save points for combat/magic/crafting perks. Same deal with Speech, Lockpick, etc. By de-ranking the first perk in each tree, you're removing like 70 perks or something; you still can't take everything, but there's a lot more leeway for experimentation when you can just drop 1 perk into a tree to make it decently usable.
Thank you very much for your feedback! It means a lot to me!! Hey man, i made all my mods to better suite the game for my play style and released them for anyone else who felt the same. Never hurts to publish your work if its in a usable state! I've enjoyed playing through a lot more without being so constricted, i was worrying it might open things up TOO much and make you OP at later stages. I'm glad that you don't find it to be that way. Once again thanks for the feed back, feel free to keep me posted on how your play through is going!
I'm not too sure this will take off, as Ordinator is more interesting and robust. But I will say, this is still kinda neat. Taking the half-baked perk system and fleshing it out without it getting too cluttered or complicated is nice. I'll keep this one in mind when I get tired of Ordinator.
Hey thanks! Really appreciate the positive feed back so far! Unfortunately you are probably right, as its a little too late. But i made this mod mainly for myself as i dont like the overpowered perks of Ordinator, but always felt that vanilla perks were just wonky (especially compared to previous Elder Scrolls games). I hope i can get some ideas on how to easily change some of the magic trees and flesh them out further.
"i dont like the overpowered perks of Ordinator" Yeah, I can understand that. Some things like Conjuration and Two-Handed got insanely buffed. Although this treatment made things like Enchanting and Restoration more viable. And then you have things like Sneak and Lockpick which decided to become complicated and not fully worth investment unless you're pulling a thief/sneak build. While perk trees did get fixed up, some went too far. Sometimes the simple treatment is better.
