These really look amazing. Has anyone done dual sheath patches yet for the weapons they'd be willing to share? I'm totally being a bum.

by dual sheath patch, do you just mean making left-handed and just-sheath meshes for all the 1h weapons? i can do that pretty easily

Do you think you can retexture the Ebony plate armor from the creation club too?

like i said before, i don't own it, but kartoffel upscaled them: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/34526?tab=files
though the style and particularly the cube map won't exactly match mine. if someone sends me meshes and textures i can look into modding them, but i'm not planning to buy anything on the creation club other than the stuff i got for free already.

Seconding request for a CBBE Bodyslide patch, the files that need shader patching are the ShapeData files, I'd think, since those are what other mod authors include when doing CBBE patches for shader parameters (like Frankly HD's stuff.)

yeah i think you're right about that. i'm just not clear on whose meshes people want me to patch. there are multiple CBBE adaptations of the ebony armor out there, i need to know specifically which set of meshes you guys want patched

The official CBBE conversion set in the main CBBE installer includes one right? That's what I was thinking of.

i uploaded a CBBE patch. i'd be willing to do patches for TBD and BHUNP if somebody wants those. i haven't used any body mesh mods in SE yet, just due to the complications of needing to convert every mod-added armor/clothing mesh. but BHUNP looks like the most advanced and realistic one i've seen so far. tried it in LE and it looks like quite a technical achievement

Would you be willing to make a Compat. Patch with this and Improved Closefaced Helmets? or do you know who should I pester to get one?
Great improvement over the aMidianBorn one, I also liked your work on the upscaled textures for that one.

I uploaded a patch. I didn't have room to type this all out in the files section, but basically the SE port still uses the LE meshes. I also saw comments on the mod page about crashes and speculating that the old block format is the cause. I don't know whether this is actually the cause, it's very hard to track down the cause of crashes that aren't due to an error that could be handled by the papyrus log. if users have crashes I would like to see their netscript framework log, that could potentially tell us if it's actually a mesh causing the problem with ICH in the first place. anyway, just erring on the side of "use the new format" I converted the meshes with the nif optimizer tool. this usually doesn't cause problems. sometimes it changes the positioning/scale of the object in the inventory preview but that's about it, I do not think converting an armor mesh to BSTriShapes can cause crashes itself but we'll see. hopefully this will fix the issue ICH users are complaining about but keep in mind it's just a patch for the ebony armor, I didn't convert all the other helmets. maybe someone should. anyway if you see any problems specific to the ebony helmet or you're getting some crash you weren't getting before - let me know, I usually check notifications on my mod pages but I always check PMs

if you pick the default color for glass (like green-ish brass, not the thalmorized or silver versions) then it matches well with the cathedral armory textures for glass weapons. that's what i use, except i made a version with alpha channels so it'll work with the weapon meshes i use. i forgot i did that so wasn't planning to upload them, especially since i didn't upscale them as they're already 2K. but maybe i will if i can figure out who to ask for permission.

I use CBBE & body slide with this works just fine just remove the meshes, (then repack) put some (ENB Ebony) screen shots up but I cant craft Ebony yet : / guess I'll have to buy some think Inigo will lend a few Septims.

if there's a particular set of bodyslide projects/shape data that is really popular you can send me i will make a patch for it. i just don't want to spend my time on it and then realize i made a patch for the wrong thing. when i used to use bodyslide and female body mods i would just do things like this after generating the meshes, so i'd have bodyslide export to a dummy folder, then i'd change the shader properties of those generated meshes in nifskope, then install them like a normal mod. if i knew how to make bodyslide automatically export them with the right shader properties at the time, i would have done that instead. i assume all i need to do is change the base nif's properties but maybe i need to change the shapedata file too. i've been out of the bodyslide loop since LE, which was before i actually started making mods so i'm not super well informed on how to develop mods for it

yeah you can, USSEP fixes the big problems with those meshes so as long as you have USSEP you won't have any actual problems in-game. the difference will be that all the meshes in vanilla have very inconsistent environment map scales, so all different levels of shininess; and the vanilla meshes use the cubemaps chitin_e_ebony for armor and chitin_e for weapons. so the actual color is inconsistent in vanilla and doesn't look great imo. the textures were, in general, intended to be used with these particular meshes, so that's why they're included. but they still line up with the vanilla UV maps and everything, so they will work fine with the vanilla meshes or any mesh replacement that's intended to be used with the vanilla or vanilla-like textures. just out of curiosity, are you asking because you want to use the meshes from another mod or meshes generated by bodyslide? if so, i can tell you how to convert the meshes to look like the ones in my pack

Thanks for the response n explanation!..thats exactly what i wanted to know..I actually really like ebony armor especially shiny ones, i got the Reinforced (Standalone), the Valkyrie (replacer) and the amazing world (trust me its only for the parts). so i hv been using the amidian texture and the replacer looks good (although i think urs are better) with it, but not the amazing world ones. So i thought using ur mods can make it look good. but based on ur explanation, it may be bcoz of the mesh that came with the mod.
Yeah sure really glad u can tell me how to do it. but only if it is not a bother to u.
But whatever it is im gonna test 1st and see for my self. Bcoz 1 think for sure is that ur work on this really looks super dope.

do you have nifskope? all you need to do is open the meshes in nifskope, click on the armor (a given mesh might be made up of more than one blocks so you may need to repeat this step for each block) and expand it in the tree view and click on BSLightingShaderProperty. scroll down to the bottom and set Environment Map Scale to 1.0, then click on the next child in the tree view, BSTextureSet, and replace whatever's in row 5 with textures\cubemaps\cc_otherwordly.dds

also while you're at it, you can check all the meshes from the mods you just mentioned to make sure they actually use these textures. BSTextureSet is where all the textures are defined. so you want to see textures\armor\ebonyarmor\f\blahblahblah.dds for rows 1, 2, and 6. if it's using its own textures then that would need further investigation to see if those special textures could be replaced by mine.

1st of just wanna thank u for the guide..really2 appreciate it. 2ndly i wanna tell u that after testing installing ur mod, the armors really look so good!!!all the meshes remain the same coz the other mods hv their own addressed mesh right. now my concern is the ebony by amazing world, that remain ugly which i believe i need to work on like u mentioned. but for now really2 satisfied with the result. thanks!

we're talking about amazing world of bikini armor for SSE right? it looks like the ebony meshes use the vanilla ebony armor textures, but the meshes don't match because they use the wrong cubemap. unfortunately i don't think there's an xEdit script to automatically change the cubemap and env map scale for every mesh. i know there were some scripts for changing specular/gloss values floating around, maybe someone more proficient with pascal could adapt that for cubemaps. cause i see 86 ebony meshes which would be a bit tedious to convert lol. basically opening each mesh in nifskope, finding the block(s) for the ebony stuff, changing its cubemap to textures\cubemaps\cc_otherwordly.dds and changing its environment map scale (at the bottom of BSLightShaderProperty) to 1.0

Hello, thanks for the mod, the models look awesome!

    https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/users/6520144?tab=user+files

has released a couple of mods that improve and expand upon LeanWolf's Better Shaped Weapons to include every type of melee weapon(!) and better greatswords (imo).

I don't know how much work this would entail but I ask regardless: Could you be persuaded to make a patch for Believable Greatswords , Warhammers and Slimmer Axes and Maces?

read the description. i gave a patch to jg1 and i believe he's gonna put it in the fomod for his next updates. i didn't upload it here because that would require me to upload his meshes, and i don't want to step on his work

I have no idea how I missed that, as I read the section I somehow only got the part with compatibility regarding LeanWolf.

      Regardless, thanks for clarifying (again)!
