My miniature dachshund passed away last Friday, and I've been a complete wreck since. My partner suggested I see if there's a dachshund mod, and I almost cried seeing this. Thank you so, so very much. I love having a doxie by my side once more.

Was really excited about this when i found it, cause the elderly red dachshund 'Sophie' I adopted from the local humane society while I worked there died a month ago. But alas when I went to the stables in Markarth they were no where to be found. : ( Dont have AFT running and have no conflicts in my loaded mods. Not sure what i did wrong. Plugin is not showing up on plugin list in vortex. Have installed and enabled both file versions, even tried manually installing mod files. Still not showing up or working. Been working at it for hours, am do depressed now. SOMEHOW I finally got it to work! Now combined with a renaming mod, Sophie is living peacefully in Breezehome. Thank You SO much for this mod! l)J

Hey indigoniko29 - I use GIMP to adjust textures, like hair, etc.You would have to start with that unless you have another texture editing software and then get the .DDS plugin; if you want to give it a go and try. You can IM me separately if you get stuck and I'll help or see what I can do.
Oh my god YES! As a fellow dachshund enthusiast this is a mod I want! Please tell me they can be had as pets in my house... *edit* Doxies are adorable indeed. But I am having trouble adopting them to my home. If I dismiss them they go back to Markath.
Thanks! There should be a wait option. You can also use your favorite follower framework mod to dismiss but have them stay in a certain area. I used Amazing Follower Tweaks but there are newer mods that you can also use.
Unless AFT has another feature I am missing it unfortunately is not really the answer I am looking for. If I tell them Dismiss but hang around they just stay put around in a very small area, couple of meters at max. Never go outside, do not really interact with other family members etc... I did try My Home Is Your Home which allows you to set your followers home in anywhere and almost got exited that this is it! But unfortunately it did not work with this mod... The description does say it does not work with Vigilance so maybe it is related. Oh well, unless there are other mods you can point me to AFT is better than nothing, I did strategically put couple of them near the fireplace/kitchen and the rest in the bedroom. Both are the favourite places of my doxie. :)
is there a way to get doxie to live at my house instead of following me, like a human follower does? i want him to hang out with my daughter at my house
Love this and thank you for sharing it. I wish I could find a doxie mod for fallout 4. I would love to have my Noah and Frankie adventuring with me there also.
