I know this package isn't going to be everyone's thing considering my last three overhauls.. Some characters aren't as drastic in appearance, and with certain combinations of mods they can look either too clean or too "done-up". Is there any interest in me releasing patches removing some of the characters I anticipate as a bit controversial? Elenwen is the first that comes to mind.
Also, keep in note, some of the characters are going to look a lot more different in your game depending on the mods you are using. Tulius looks a bit washed out in my screenshots, but if you're using a rougher skin texture he will most likely look more like vanilla or how WICO displays him.
Hope someone enjoys this release. I made it after running through the Helgen Escape sequence and saw how out of place Ralof and Hadvar looked. Smaller releases like this won't be common. And the files are compacted so you can make this an ESL and save a plugin slot (in 2020.....).
I just noticed it, my bad. I saw the list in your white run refine mod and came here to look in the same spot and there it was. Was going to delete my comment but you reply quick lmfao.
Ignore the haters. As someone whose beaten Special Edition 3 times (I know, those are rookie numbers) using Bijin and Pandorable NPC Overhauls, I've been craving NPC Overhauls that are more Vanilla/Realistic as opposed to Anime/Pretty. You and Southpawe are easily at the top when it comes to this.
I see some people mentioning visual glitches, but I haven't experienced any. I'm currently using Nordic Faces as my NPC Foundation (which I've overwritten with this mod). I use the Loverboy/Lovergirl skin retextures with KS Hairdo's and High Poly Vanilla Hair, as well as Kala's Eyes/Eye Normal Map Fix. Additional mods I use to touch up are Northborn Scars and Vanilla Make-Up HD. Oh, and Beards, of course. I try to get only one of each necessity, and the things I do get are very module and high quality. So far, these have worked amazingly.
When you said you "hope someone enjoys this release", I am that someone, and honestly, if someone else discouraged you from finishing up your NPC Overhaul series, tell them to suck it. It's impossible to please everyone. These are fantastic. The quality and realism is amazing, and your approach/vision of how some NPC's should look is really unique AND, most importantly, lore-friendly. This is easily the best original take on Ulfric I've seen. Other Authors make him look totally different. This is not to discredit them or say that their work is "bad", as their work is also high quality and awesome, but it's not "vanilla", just their own original take. All subjective. Yours, however, I think stays true whilst adding your own unique flavor to it. Ralof is another great take. Stays true to the original but adds your own hint of flavor to it. The addition of the beard is honestly a great choice IMO. It gives off a more Nordic/Norse/Viking feel that I think matches the overall theme of Skyrim/Nords, and as someone whose clearly a great fighter and trusted by Ulfric, he deserves a manly beard to match it, lmao.
Anyways, I don't want to go on too deep with the compliments and what I like but I definitely need to give credit where credit is deserved, you truly deserve it. Awesome work. No really, awesome work.
Here's to hoping you decide to pick these passion projects back up and make an AIO NPC Overhaul someday. Guarantee I'll see them in people like Mern's and SoftGaming's videos, haha.
I've noticed that Ulfric and Galmar (and possibly some other characters) look far different from ones on the screenshots. The geometry of faces looks similar but faces in general look a lot rougher, even rougher than vanilla ones. I've even tried this mod on clean SSE installation, but nothing changed. So are they supposed to look like this, or is something wrong? Ulfric screenshot for example: https://imgur.com/a/cjATBAK
I'm having a problem with the scars on Legate Rikke's face, even on an otherwise completely vanilla install. The scars are floating in front of her face in some areas (mostly over the nose, between the eyes), and it looks especially strange when she speaks. This image is taken with only this mod and Tempered Skins for Females installed. Does anyone know why this is happening? I believe none of the other mods under soft requirements edit scars, but I also don't see scars this noticeable and floaty on Legate Rikke in the image section.
Is there a way to copy the appearance of one of these NPCs and use them for my player character? Tried a couple of mods to copy Elenwens face but with no luck. It would just give me some generic high elf face.
This mod is so well done, I absolutely LOVE Ulfric's look especially! Unfortunately, I use another mod for a few NPCs that are also in this mod so I can't use them together :( do you think a version of just Ulfric could be possible? or maybe a wizard installer that allows you to choose which npcs you want (like how Bijin does it)? sorry this seems so demanding omg - only if you have time/want to! Thanks for your hard work :)
It's a load order issue on your end. Something is overwriting the facegen files provided by this mod. Remember, these are packaged in a BSA, so they will be loaded before any loose assets.

Remember, it's in a BSA, and files packaged in a BSA will always be loaded before any loose files. If you play with loose facegen files you should unpack the BSA and position the mod as such in your load order.
