About this mod

A simple mod containing three presets. One for each of the three elven races, meant to have a more human and beautiful appearance, while still remaining true to the elven races.

Hey folks!  I have a question for you.  Have you ever wanted to play as a legit Altmer, Bosmer, or Dunmer race that actually had a more human like appearance?  Yeah me too, and now you can!

So some info/background for this simple preset mod.  For the longest time, and I do mean a looong time, dating all the way back to 2011, I always wanted to play an elf in Skyrim.  However, no matter how hard I tried, I could never create an elf that I actually liked the look of.  I'd sit there and try for hours trying to make one that looked good, give up and then just use a human race and slap elf ears on them and call it good, which was fine for awhile...but never being referred to as an elf by any npcs ingame always got to me after awhile.  Just broke my immersion, you know?  Even Ethereal Elven Overhaul couldn't help me achieve what I wanted.  So I'd quit and just go back to playing as a Nord or Breton or Imperial, etc.  Which was fine, but I've always, always, wanted to play as a High Elf Knight/Paladin/you get the idea.  That desire has never left me, so time and time again I would try and try and fail and fail.

I repeated this cycle for nearly a decade, never satisfied with what I created.  However, a week and a half ago I finally made the transition from LE to SE, and once again I tried to make an elf preset that I actually liked...but this time I was dedicated as all hell to succeeding.  Failure would not be an option for me this time!  And so after 4 days of on and off again face crafting, making little tweaks to sliders here and there, and nearly giving up again, I finally succeeded and found the magic slider that made it possible!  Kinda feel a little stupid for not having found it sooner too since its been there for a long time >.>

I was so proud of my achievement, that I decided to share the preset!  I also made a Bosmer and Dunmer variation of the preset with just a few little changes made to them to make them look atleast a little different from each other.  Why?  Cause I know that not everyone wants to play an Altmer, infact I think most people want to play a dunmer, or a bosmer.  So yeah, I made them to let people have a version of the preset for the race they wanted to play as.

TLDR:  I spent 4 days making three elven presets that use the vanilla elf races and actually look more human while still looking elven.  There's no headmesh to import and no sculpting was done.  So you don't have to worry about any weirdness potentially happening.  Just install the presets (and their requirements) and load them up in game on the proper race(s) they are meant for.

IMPORTANT
Due to how these presets work, and the slider I used to give them their appearance, they will be incompatible with most hairs (especially vanilla hairs) that were once fine on the vanilla elven races.  The hairlines clip into the forehead.  However!  As a trade off they now look good with all the other hairs that didn't look that great on the elven races.  Also if you load up the preset and end up with a face that's jagged and low poly looking, just go to the "Head" tab in Racemenu and move the slider on "Face Part" over to the High Poly Head.  It should load up automatically when loading the preset, but you never know, it may not.

P.S.  The magic slider that made all the difference is under the "Extra' tab in Racemenu.  High Elf, reduce it to -0.3 or -0.4, but don't go past that or it'll start to look a little weird.
