What happens when you die? Do you reload? Respawn? Or do you Stay In The Fight? If you're tired of your immersion breaking by reloading previous saves, or hiking across Tamriel with standard alternative death mods just to die again at the same spot, Stay In The Fight has you covered.

The Basics
- Stay In The Fight is a simple, configurable, and lightweight alternative death mod that keeps you fighting when you should have passed on.
- The catch? Your life is spared at the cost of your equipped gear, weapons, soul gems, gold, dragon souls, skills, and / or level before finally taking your life
- Stay In The Fight is perfect for keeping the flow going during hard playthroughs
- Instead of replaying the same sections over and over when you get frequently killed, take the hit and Stay In The Fight
- If you fully embrace all sacrifice options, you may find yourself naked, weaponless, and broke, attempting to pummel a dragon with your bare fists

The Lore
- The Gods have brought a Dragonborn into existence for a purpose, so its important for them to protect their asset, but only while it's to their benefit
- When you die you will be knocked to the ground and the gods will make you briefly ethereal to keep you going. Sparing your life will demand sacrifices, and you will lose important possessions in exchange for sparing your soul

The Essentials
- Fully customizable. Decide what you're willing to part with and the degree of severity.
- Death can cost you several 'sacrifices' which may include your armor, weapons, filled soul gems (grand and / or black), your dragon souls, skills (above level 15),  an entire experience level, and / or a percentage of your gold (customizable)
- When you have nothing left to give, you can choose from several options such as death (normal death), to lose your gear and become banished to the throat of the world, to lose your gear and wake up in a graveyard (buried),to be reset to level 1 (as of v 3.0), or for nothing to happen at all (as of v 2.3).  Quest items are not affected.

Added Options
- Can now save settings (as of v3.0)
- May choose to lose armor in reverse slot order (peripheral first, then moving towards core... i.e. slot 60 -> 30 vs 30 -> 60)
- May delay the SITF effect to give another mod the chance to save you first
- Option choose to have the SITF effect, but have another mod handle bleedout outcomes (see Defeat note below)
- Option to ignore enchanted items as sacrifices
- You may add extra sacrifices per follower with you (because death is extra shameful with friends)
- If you choose to lose armor or weapons, only equipped items will be touched
- You can set two equipment slots as protected so that these equipped items cant be removed (i.e. if your lantern is slot 55 and you want to keep it, you can set slot 55 to safe)
- Debug option in the MCM jolts the player if they go down on a bush or in a weird circumstance where they're stuck
- Can select or randomize sacrifice order
- Can select chance to to fully heal after bleedout and/or have the last enemy to hit you fully heal (v2.3)
- Shouts now automatically reequip (v 2.3)
- Can set a minimum skill and gold threshold that the mod will not remove (as of v3.0)
- Can randomize sacrifice order

Compatibilities With Other Bleedout / Player Essential Mods
- Other Bleedout Events
- This mod will force a fast recovery from any low health bleedout state and therefore may shorten any bleedout events. This is partially configurable in the MCM (read Defeat below for an example). Using player.kill (not a low-health bleedout) when essential will just cause a normal bleedout event, but a brawl that knocks you into low health will trigger this mod. If another mod might save you from bleedout, you can set SITF to delay the effect.

- Other Death Alternative Mods:
- Depends on how they handle it, not likely, but maybe

- Defeat (the LL mod)
- Defeat's knockout events work with SITF as well as Defeat's 'essential on bleedout' option.
- To get essential on bleedout to work, select "no recovery" in the SITF menu, then RESELECT "essential on bleedout" in the Defeat menu. If not reselected, you may get stuck in bleedout.
- Using both Defeat & SITF together can allow you to experience SITFs sacrifices, while allowing Defeat to handle the bleedout events. Works really well if these instructions are followed!
- To need an excuse to use Defeat's surrender function as opposed to waiting for bleedout: Set 'essential on bleedout' in defeat, set 'no recovery' in SITF, then set SITF sacrifices high.

- Important:
- If you turn off options that handle the player's essential status in other mods (like disabling 'essential on bleedout' in defeat), the player will no longer be essential and this mod's events will not fire. To fix this, toggle SITF off and back on again in the MCM to make sure your player is essential

Installation

- Install normally and activate in the MCM to begin
- Turn the mod off in the MCM before uninstalling (IMPORTANT)

Fun Note
- I'd love to know what you think and if you run into any issues
- I finally decided to jump into the modding world after trying as many death mods as I could find and not really finding what I was looking for.
- Special thanks to the mod-making community for have a ton of forums to scroll through, videos to view, and attaching their source code to the mods, I'll be sure to do the same
