    Q: Is mjharper's Kajhiit Speak required for this mod?
    A: No. This mod replaces the original KS. The reason that I did not simply patch his mod and upload it on the original page is due to MJH's permissions (or rather lack thereof), which would violate community guidelines. 

    Q: What is difference between KSR and the original KS?
    A: This version has all the same lines of dialog altered, in my own unique way, plus many more not included in the original - specifically prompted replies that KS missed, plus many more that I've added here to provide more variety to common phrases.

    Q: Can I use this mod and only have it affect my PC when I play a character that is the Khajiit race?
    A: No. This converts ALL speech interactions from the PC while active. Unfortunately, there is no method to only have this active when using a Khajiit character by default. To assist with this, use MO2 and its profile feature to activate specific mods for specific playthroughs.

    Q: Can the main file be converted to an ESL?               (Updated since v 5.0)
    A: Technically, yes. All supporting mod files are already in ESPFE (ESP w/ ESL flag, ESP lite) format to allow a minimal impact. I have recently changed the main file to be available as an ESPFE as well. Simply select it during your install (USE THE MAIN ESPFE FILE WITH A NEW GAME ONLY!!).

    Q: Will you convert mod XXXXX?
    A: Possibly. Before you request a mod to be converted, please check to see if one of the other awesome KS conversion authors listed at the bottom of the description page have not already done it. If not, place a request in the comments. There is no guarantee that I will get to it, as I've done so many already - but if I have time, I will certainly try to do so (depending on the size of it).

    Q: Can I convert a mod and send it to you to host?
    A: Yes. If you do not wish to host it yourself on Nexus (it's very easy to do so), then my only requirement is to please be sure that you follow my SEVEN RULES. That is all I ask to host it for you. Full credit will be given to you for the conversion.

    Q: Where can I donate to you?
    A: I do not accept donations for my mods. Many authors of big mods do, and they are worthy of some tuppance, but my mods will always remain free. 

    Q: Can I upload your mod to XXXXX website?
    A: No. I wish to have all my mods remain on Nexus for ease of management.

    Q: I found a bug!
    A: Please report it on the bug tab above, and I will repair it when able. 

    Q: Will you convert this to LE?
    A: The short answer is no. I do not have that version of the game installed on my system any longer, nor do I plan to do so. From my understanding, it is not a simple change of Form 44 to 43 in xEdit and save. Each line would need to be transferred manually. If someone was willing to attempt to copy over all the changes to revert the version back to Form 43 / LE , I will be glad to relinquish control of this to them for that version hosted on Skyrim Nexus (please only host it here on Nexus).

    Q: What load order should I use for KSR?                      (Updated since v 5.0)
    A: Load "BA_KhajiitSpeakRedux_MAIN.esp" first, and then place each supporting conversion after this, in the same order that you loaded the main file being converted.

    For example, if you have mod ABC, 123, DFG, and 890 - then you should have BA_KSR_ABC, BA_KSR_123, BA_KSR_DFG, and BA_KSR_890 in that order.

    Regardless of the above, if you use several mods, I implore you to learn and use xEdit to compare all changes and ensure that a MERGED PATCH file is created to resolve any conflicts (which is loaded last / below all of the above).

    If you are using the LOTD guide from Dark Lady Lexy, then be sure to manually sort all mods with "LOTD" in their title to the bottom of your load order. This is because they will auto-sort to "L", and some of them have corrections for other mods further down in the alphabet.

    I thought about naming them so they would auto-sort to the bottom, and I even attempted to do so in FOMOD, but the priority feature of FOMOD must work differently than I expected it to. Just manually move them and you'll be all set!

    A quick note about ESL'ifying other mods:

    If you run across a mod that is in ESP format and you want to ESLFE it, there are a few things to check first:

    1) Does it have more than 2048 records? If so, then it cannot be converted.
    2) Does it have facegen files or lip sequencing? If so, FUGGETABOUTIT!
    3) Does it have new CELL's created? Changes to existing cells is okay, but if NEW cells are created and referenced (sometimes authors just build a test cell that doesn't have anything to do with the gameplay of the mod), then don't modify it. 
    4) Do the scripts (if any) call out for GetFormFromFile? If so, skip it. 

    With all this said, if the mod qualifies and there is a KSR supporting mod, the easiest way to convert it is:
    - load up BOTH the original file and the KSR file in xEdit,
    - conducted your compression of files,
    - flag the mod as an ESL,
    - save changes.

    It is most likely that both files will require a new save, but at least now you will hook the proper FORMID's of the ESPFE. 

    I hope this helps! There are many caveats to the above "rules" of ESPFE, and many can be tweaked to work, but as a general rule - don't go messing around in someone else's garden.

    Hey i have run into a problem. Sorry to be a bother but marrige seemed to have broken it. Everytime i tried to marry it crashed, when i turned the mod off to complete it then turn it back on, it would crash. Now i cannot play the game with the mod, or else it will crash. Is there a fix to this? Sorry if i missed anything but i couldnt seem to find any fixes. This is my first time Saying anything on nexus so sorry if i do things wrong.

      Do you have KWF (Khajiit Will Follow) perhaps? I know that I had a ton of trouble keeping up with their patches and it would end up breaking my mod.

      In general there shouldn't be an issue with marriage unless an official game patch came about since I last updated this over a year ago (in APRIL of 2023).

    This mod causes a strange issue that I just can't wrap my head around so I have to ask. When I install this mod the main menu loading screen is infinite so the game doesn't load. When I close the game Skyrim is still open but as a process that doesn't have a window and I need to use Task Manager to close it. This is usually a sign of an outdated SKSE mod or a similar issue concerning SKSE. 

    Does this mod work with 1.1170?

      I'm not sure why this is occurring, and I am not playing Skyrim right now to investigate. My apologies. Perhaps someone active can root cause this.

    Amine is a big fan of your mod. It makes this one feel more like a true Khajiit in Skyrim. This one has a humble request for you.yes?
    Khajiit thinks combining your mod with  a khajiit voice would be sweet like moonsugar, no?

      This was an idea that cropped up when an GPT tool emerged with similar intent. There was a Khajiit Male and Female voice used from the game to generate files, but it didn't seem to (at the time) work with mods, just the base game files. 

      I believe it had something to do with not rendering the lip-sync files (or whatever they are called).

      No that said, this was well over a year ago, and everyone (perhaps) knows the advancements in GPT technology since then, so there *MAY* be a way to do it now?

      I'm not playing Skyrim right now to delve into this further, but if I return you can bet that this will be one of my first deep-dives!

    The patch for Alternate Perspective doesn't seem to work, despite the dialogue being present in SSEedit, instead of:
    "Khajiit will rent a room. (Start Intro (<Global=RoomCost> septims))"

    It instead says:
    "[Name] would like to rent a room [cost]" 

    I believe this is causing the mod to not properly function as even when sleeping/waiting the cart carrying prisoners does not go to helgen (im not sure if it even spawns)

      I've been tampering with my mods/SSEedit but to no avail, if anyone knows how to get the proper dialogue in place, please let me know.
      I've tried messing with the load order of the patches/original mod and nothing has worked so far

      I'm not sure why this is happening now. There was an issue like this a long time back, but it was fixed since then. Perhaps something in a newer game version?

      I'm not playing and modding Skyrim right now, so I have no idea when (if) I will be able to address this. If someone can make a patch to correct it, you have whatever permissions to do so.

      oh, there is no concern, not anymore at least. i removed the dependency and am enjoying the mod. good work on the dialogue! My personal favorite has to be dragon soul absorb text (the first time i saw it it caught me offguard lmao)

      It is also highly unvalued by many. If not because of Arthmoor himself, because of the many changes that are made to the game that do not fix bugs whatsoever and are added/altered/removed due to the mod authors on impulses.

      I had totally forgotten that USSEP was an Arthmoor mod. I understand why so many would wish it gone now. 

      I am not actively supporting my mods at this time, but I do hope to return sometime down the line and this would be one of the thing that I correct/update/remove.

      Unlikely (at least for me) to happen. I am not actively playing Skyrim right now, so I've halted any new mods being converted directly by myself.

      Perhaps another KS author will take this on?? Check the bottom of the description for other KS authors/mods to see if they are active still.

      WHAT IN THE HOLY HELL! Just when I think that Skyrim cannot possibly go next level... first it was graphic upgrades, then it was Dynamic Animation Replacer, now THIS!!

      From what little I've learned, it seems that there may already be a way to parse all dialog in your load order through the voice command software in a Khajiit accent. I only saw an example for males, but there may very well be a feminine version as well that I missed. Again, I only breifly browsed the various and extensive mods that incorporate this feature - so I have very little knowledge overall.

      • Dragonborn Voice Over is compatible with any mod that doesn't overwrite Dialogue Menu
      • Modded translations at the moment don't work with DBVO

      I have tried this, but currently the tool used in making dialogue for DVBO does not recognize the changes in Khajiit Speak.

      I think with the advances in AI CHAT, that we will see such a feature available int he near future. I am not sure how it will happen, but my guess is that the software that can record a celebrity's voice and then generate a close match within seconds would also allow for this to use the existing Khajiit voices recordings in game and do the same using the inputs from this mod for what words to speak, yes?

      How that then gets translated and entered into the file for a voice replacement and mouth movements is beyond what I deal in as a modder... But I'm still hopeful and excited to see/hear it happen!!

    "Sholarkhu has wares, but no one has coin."

    I have run into a problem i am not sure how to fix, i can't barter with any of the Merchants, the option doesn't even show up. I have tried using DIR and Better Dialogue, but that didn't seem to change anything. I appreciate any help anyone can give, until then I'll try and figure out the problem myself.

      I thought someone had mentioned this before in the chat, but I don't recall what the fix was.

      I haven't been in game in many months, nor updated this for some time. I should have some availability around Christmas to revisit this and give a good update, and I can check this issue out then.

      In the meantime, I hope you are able to find a work around.

    Hey, just wanted to let you know there might be an issue with the Serana Dialogue Add-On patch - I've been using this mod, love it by the way, and just got Serana and discovered that some of her dialogue was coming up silent. I confirmed on Serana Dialogue Add-On that all dialogue was voiced so there was something conflicting. After much playing around with my mods, it seemed to be an issue with the patch, as when I disabled it, the previous silent dialogue was now voiced. I can live without the patch, just wanted to let you.

    EDIT: Just realized this was also brought up in the bugs section.
