About this mod

Oppaikun's Gardens allows you to add all or some of three unique garden expansions to each of the homesteads: Lakeview Manor, Windstad Manor and/or Heljarchen Hall. Once a garden has been built you can expand your garden using the provided pedestal. The pedestal can then either be kept as an ornament or removed.

This mod is finished and is no longer being updated.

Thank you for being interested in my first self-made mod! Any feedback and criticism is welcome.

Installation/Updating

With a Mod Manager: Use the provided installer and pick the gardens you wish to install in the FOMOD installer.
Manual installation: Download the MOD files and copy the .bsa to your \Data folder. Choose which gardens you wish installed and copy the matching .esp file to your \Data folder.

Make sure the mod is loaded after any other mods that alter the player home areas. If the gardens look weird, this is likely the reason.

If you're updating, and have plants planted at Lakeview Manor, please read along - everyone else can ignore the rest of the orange text. Before updating, go in-game and remove any of the six (6) plants in the planter soil to the left of the little tree in a pot in the East Garden. In the newest update, these are removed and new planters placed based on which East Wing building has been built.

Once installed, a pedestal will spawn with the Heathfire gardens (or appear after reloading the area, if already built).

Features
- Expands garden around Lakeview Manor.
- Expands garden around Windstad Manor.
- Expands garden around Heljarchen Hall.
- The expansions are designed to fit the specific wing building you have chosen.
- Adds extra soil and planters, compatible with mods like CACO.
- Interactive pedestal to build garden from.
- Expanding requires materials matching in magnitude to the expansion's size.
- Keep pedestal as an ornament or remove after building garden.
- Changes the landscape to match the garden area.
- Comes with a little Easter egg.

F.A.Q.
Question: The pedestal isn't there?
Answer: Make sure you have built the garden, as the pedestal spawns with it. If you have built the garden and it still isn't there, try fast traveling away, going inside and out of an interior, and then come back. If it's still not there, write a bug report, and I will look at it.

Question: I updated from a previous version, and the planter disappeared at Lakeview Manor. How do I fix it?
Answer: A recent update changed the appearance of the East Wing Garden at Lakeview Manor to match the wing building built. Fast traveling away and back should fix the issue.

Troubleshooting
The current version of the mod shouldn't have any game breaking bugs. However, if you installed one of the previous versions and recently updated, you may run into problems. There are three ways to go about this. Try in the following order:

Option 1
Uninstall my mod, install and follow the instructions in this save cleaner, install the newest version of Oppaikun's Gardens, and reload the game.

Option 2
This one may sting, but try loading the game from a save before my mod was installed. If you're okay with losing the progress, the mod should work at this point.

Option 3
Check the files for a patch for your specific installation. If it's not there, write a new post describing what you are experiencing, which version you upgraded from (if possible), and which .esp you are using (which of the player homes you selected during previous installation).

Compatibility
Landscape and area
The gardens are placed around the player house, so any mods that changes this area might interfere with the mod. Some mods only use a little of the same area, in which case it's possible for me to make compatibility fixes for these mods. If you're using a mod, where a few objects are glitching with my mod, write me a message!

Plants and herbalism
I have removed any features that may make it hard to keep up compatibility with other mods. Since I'm using the same planter and soil as in the Hearthfire DLC, all plants and flora addons that are compatible with the HearthFire DLC should also work with this mod.

Meshes and textures
I likely have some unorthodox practices that may prove problematic in some mod combinations. I do use some specific objects to create the illusion of something else - changing the textures of these might break the image I tried to make. Feel free to write me a message if you experience any abnormalities that you think may be caused by this (pictures welcome).

Mods hand-made compatible with OG:
- Legacy of the Dragonborn (crates in front of player home at Lakeview Manor)

Credits
Ashen - A huge thanks for support and guidance while making this mod. I was reluctant to keep going until Ashen started continuously sparring with me, and I've learned a ton thanks to his generous help.
GalArkay - Helping troubleshooting and giving insight into hard maffs. Big brain.
Darkfox127 - Scripting videos on YouTube making it easier to start modding.
SeaWillie - For making a free-to-use glass pane mesh, which is used in this mod.

I can recommend anyone looking to start modding to take a peek at the r/SkyrimMods discord - you might get the help you need to pull through.
