She is an interesting follower with her own quest and story. She is strong and absolutely loves to fight. She is also a potential World Destroyer, that only the Dragonborn can stop.

About Risa.
Once upon a time, Alduin, who bore power equal to Akatosh, battled a nameless hero, the latter almost put Aludin to the sword. Although the hero fell in battle, as the expense of it, Aludin lost most of his power. After that, he was sealed away. The existence of this hero was buried away by the history, only the name has been passed down by the later eras.
The dragons created by Akatosh don't have genders. However, 'she' clearly possesses feminine features. And her shape was thoroughly different from her other siblings in the first place. They call "her" "Daughter of Akatosh".
She is neither good, nor evil, the sole thing left was the insatiable impulsion of destruction. The only difference was to point her blade at the enemies of the world and not the world ifself. However she slowly incarnates as the World Destroyer, only the Dragonborn could stop her by then.
