Congrats on making a mod that addresses a lot of the pain in playing as a mage.
Damage from Destruction spells underpowered compared to sword or bow?
Wards underpowered and too costly to cast?
Mage Armor too expensive and runs out of juice in the middle of a battle?
Healing by spell underpowered compared to the damage you keep taking in battle and having to use the magicka you need to cast fireballs or atronachs?
Can't carry enough since you didn't invest points in Stamina, since you are a mage not a warrior or archer?
Get one shot killed in ambush scenarios?
    Staffs are underwhelming in battles?
While there are other mods out there that solve all of these problems, (and I have a lot of them installed so I am sorry but I cannot use your mod at this time; plus I am using Vokrii which provides me with a bit more choice in character development and I think it might conflict with some of your changes), still I want to commend you for you have managed to address all these problems in one mod.
    Really great work!

Thanks for stopping by to look and comment :)

I wanted something that required you to make some investment. If you're willing to get the skills and invest in the perk points you can become quite powerful with your spells doing 2-3 times the starting damage. If you've mastered the entire destruction tree then you SHOULD do a lot of damage.

As I learn more about modding, I hope to add some more cool stuff. We'll see how it goes :)

Can the added wards be used as a cast and forget spell? meaning you can cast them and have them active while you draw weapons and use other spells.

Excellent idea. Mage in skyrim is pretty weak. Strongest is the archer.Need to see how this compares to what I am using as far as values changed.

    Look forward to your ideas.

edit: Conflicts heavily with Ordinator perks of skyrim.
Conflicts mildly with Improved Destruction Magic SE.

Thanks for giving it a try!

You can have a ward running in one hand like a shield while you cast spells or use a weapon with your other hand. I use it that way all the time. Ward in left, flames in the right takin care of business.

Mage armor is fire and forget, which I made last longer, so you can have it going most of the time. Wards are directional, and more powerful, that's why they are concentration spells.

Yes, it will conflict with anything that changes the standard destruction and restoration tree. It is a "simple" tweak to the vanilla game. Ordinator is not simple at all and changes magic massively. I'm not a big fan of Ordinator because it changes too much and adds too many options. Some people love it, but it's not for me.

As far as improved destruction magic, it looks like their perk changes are similar but less powerful. They mostly change spells directly. With their spells and my perks, your mage would be hella powerful :)

Will try it and make a video. I had one user complain that simply making spells stronger was not improving anything. I disagree. You don't see Dr. Strange ever running out of mana after 8 seconds and his shields are long lasting. Imperfect example but that is what we want from a mage. Endorsed on principle.

For me it was the fact that I couldn't win the hard fights with just magic even though that's where I was putting my skills.. I had to switch to sword and armor to survive. That means the base game underpowers mages... plain and simple. You have to do a lot to compete with heavy daedric armor and weapons.

I will stop posting, but wanted to say thank you for the strange runes recommendation!! Very very cool. had to convert the oldrim version with more steps than normal, but got it to work. Very very cool.

Downloading now, and am about to find out if it conflicts with ASAP (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/20979) If it just changes the discription of perks (and NOT the names or conditions to earn them) it SHOULD be fine. (I really REALLY hope so!)

Let me know. This is the first mod I've ever made and uploaded. No guarantee I did it right :)
