This is a really cool mod, came here from MXR. I have to ask though where do the paintings/screenshots actually save to outside of skyrim in the actual files?

"In order to actually create a painting you need to run Skyrim in windowed mode." I take it that means it won't work for Skyrim VR?

Just got the Quest and this mod will be on my first Modlist for sure. Because VR Skyrim is already windowed like every VR game, it should work? Let's hope so, this is a magical idea and creation.

Congrats NexusModsCaretaker you put those two other Skyshade Enbs to shame with your genius (even Eastshade is KO)!

Fantastic idea! Would really love to use it tho I got 2 questions:
    1. Can I safely install this mid playthrough?
    2. Can it be reverse-engineered by default? As in, if I drop images from my pc into whatever folder the mod creates to store screenshots, will I be able to use it in-game?

    Hello
I cannot load to the main menu with this mod enabled. The SKSE log still indicates it loaded correctly. There must be a conflict somewhere but I have no idea with what. Is SkyShade supposed to generate an .ini ?

I'm having the same issue: CTD while the ENB shaders are loading; never makes it to the main menu.
Disable this mod and the game loads without issue.

FOR THOSE WITH BLACK PAINTING PROBLEMS <<<-----
Its actually a painting of a loading screen. This is because of the limitation of the mod, it can't paint things in fullscreen. basically, when a game runs in fullscreen, the last thing the desktop will see will be the loading screen before the main menu, and the mod paints that moment.

I found out how to set game to window mode, if using vortex or mod organ 2, u have to launch the skyrim se launcher from them, then go into options and tick the windowed box. This is because these softwares use a virtual data box that normal ini files outside the world will be overwritten. So launching the launcher in the virtual data world will set the ini files to not overwrite to fullscreen.

So this isn't a mod conflict.

      Hi!

Can I ask how to do that with Vortex? I use SKSE link to launch (As required by Skse) but I could not find how to do it from Vortex :(

      Thank you!

Don't open skse, open just the skyrim se launcher via vortex
But once u have changed the settings in options to what you want, don't hit play, exit the launcher then open skse.

There should be a feature in vortex that allows you to open skyrim launcher from there. In the Dashboard page where u would select SKSE. There should be a icon to run skyrim normally without running SKSE. If thats not it then u have to manually make vortex open the skyrim launcher which is in skyrim se folder.

Again Don't open skse, open just the skyrim se launcher via vortex.
But once u have changed the settings in options to what you want, don't hit play, exit the launcher then open skse.

Unfortunately did not work, I already followed the windowed hint before, I even tried with borders but still black paint :(

So there must be another reason why in my case does not work, but thanks for the effort in trying to help :)

Well the answer is that your playing your game in fullscreen, cause black painting is a image of the loading screen before skyrim main menu. This is proof because if you play skyrim se go ingame to your character pause game then alt tab out then back in, then use paint and then the painting won't be black but instead it will be your pause menu.
(I did do it on Vortex and it worked).

    Eastshade is awesome.

For me it is a conflict with SSE Display Tweaks, even if set to borderless windowed mode. I haven't had time to adjust settings to determine how to make them work together, but this mod works perfect when Display Tweaks is disabled.

I have something called ConsoleutilSSE and FISSES but no idea if they cause conflict (vortex does not say anything).

From what you say it could be something with scripts conflicting (that is way beyond my understanding unfortunately :) )
But maybe it can be figured out by somebody more expert, I am hoping it will be, I really love the idea of this mod :)

      UPDATE

I can confirm that this is indeed a mod conflict somewhere. I just ran Skyrim SE with no mods activated other than SkuUI and SkyShade, and I can make paintings.... Now for the oh-so-fun process of figuring out which of my 830 mods are breaking this one.

I'll get back to you guys tomorrow with my results, I'm too tired tonight...

I can also confirm that this conflicts with SSE Display Tweaks... TBH I had totally forgotten I even had that in my load order.

Disabled that, and now even with my gajillion bazillion mods Skyshade now works!

      Hi!

I don't have SSE display tweaks but still get the black painting, maybe there is some factor that causes it and is also found in other mods?
How did you find indication about what was conflicting? Could you help me please? I still did not give up hope for this!

      Thank you! :)

I have the same black painting problem and I don't use display tweaks but I'm guessing it conflicts with a mod I have, idk which one tho. Since display tweaks was one of them could ENB be one? Could one of UI mods be one? Load Order? Idk...

I do see that the Care Taker is the uploader... guessing this bug won't be resolved anytime soon.

      UPDATE
Woah wait it's not just a black painting it's the loading screen. My paint came with the skyrim logo before main menu and it's where enb is finished loading.

      UPDATE 2
I found it, my graphics card automatically made the game run in fullscreen. Set it to window borderless might work.

So reason why I see black/loading screen paintings is because my skyrim won't stop playing in fullscreen

Solved launch skyrim launcher from mod organ or vortex and in options set it to windowed mode.

Hi! Can I ask you how to do it?

I set through the launcher option (and then switch to skse to launch), but I don't know how to do it in other way :(

      Thank you!
