An easy way to add overlays to activate for other modded helmets:
- Go into MCM and activate Debug mode - Equip your desired helmet and make a note of the path the mod attempts when trying to locate its overlay - In your mods folder, open "Helmet Overlays - Improved 1st Person Experience" -> "Interface" -> "exported" -> "overlays" - Find a default overlay that matches your desired modded helmet, and Copy it - Create the exact path that you previously noted down, and Paste your copied overlay into it, ensuring to rename it to xxx.dds or whatever else you noted previously
There you go, you now have functioning overlays for whatever helmet you want! You can also use the above Debug method to fix the pathways for some of the pre-packaged helmets, e.g. Vanguard Plate Open / Closed helmets from Immersive Armours has an incorrect path for human/elf male.
Use in combination with Helmet Equipping Overhaul to automatically equip and unequip different helmets in different situations, and enjoy your immersive 1st person experience :)
Love the mod, but having a bit of trouble. I have all the compatibilities and turned off incompatibilities like skyhud, but I seem to get a flicker or something when I load in.It flickers on,the completely off.I unequip it then reequip it with the same issue, anyone have any ideas on what might be causing the issue?I also downloaded the testure pack in teh description as well, and the overlay was working fine when I was doing the tests in the alternate start jail cell. Thanks in advance
Ah, I wish the SkyHUD incompatibility was stated in the description, not tucked away in the comments. Can't use it fully, but it's a great mod. Thanks for putting it out.
I know I'm asking alot here.. but do you all think it's possible to do something similar for different hairstyles? Let's say for mods like KS Hairdos SSE? I love this mod but I wish I was crafty enough to take it further with hair styles as well
Wow. Only just heard of this Mod. Reminds me of one I used to use for Morrowind years ago.
I'm in VR now so I don't think this will work. But nice anyway bringing back ye olden memories! Maybe someone will somehow make a VR version using VRIK.
For the first time since I use this mod, when I load the game, something like this appeared...
https://zapodaj.net/plik-uLBPlvZWQN
I noticed that it appeared when after loading the game, even though I was wearing a helmet, it didn't look like I had it on. Going into the inventory and removing the helmet fixed it.
Why is this happening and can it be turned off, it really takes me out of the immersion? :/
Same problem here. No way to fix/bypass this issue without changing the camera in coversations? Also, is it possible to have the overlay on while in certains menus (e.g. inventory, magic abilities)?
This mod reminds me of community RPGs such as S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly. Has the same feature by default. Good idea for immersion but in practice it takes a lot of work to achieve something believable.

-Compatible with ultra wide monitor/resolutions just change the overlay size in the MCM.
-Compatible with Improved Camera.
Incompatible
-SkyHUD [Reported] [At the moment]
-Immersive First Person [Untested]
Bug Reported:
-When mounting a horse, sometimes the overlays say in play while in 3rd person. Solution, simply POV to 1st and then back to 3rd person.
P.S. Upload your screenshots. I love to see your games view!
