iMACobra has created a better version of this mod by improving the way it protects NPCs, with aliases through a quest instead of editing actor records. This has a few but important benefits, for both the community and the mod creator: 1. Compatbility with all other mods that edit NPCs through their actor records, mainly beautyfication and difficulty increasing mods where problematic with my mod. 2. Almost no maintenance work if for example any of the Unofficial Patches get updated. 3. Installing the mod midgame is possible.
This means that from now on it is advised to use 'Protect your People - PyP - Better NPC Protection' by iMACobra instead of this one.
Updates for NPCs Protected Redux end here. I want to thank everyone of you for using my mod and all of the mod creators that were involved with the patches as well as GhostAgent for the cool banners and providing me with support. It was a great time!
If you have problems with NPCs that still die despite the mod being active then do the following: Install the mod MFG Console. Ingame open the console, click on the faulty NPC and in the lower right part of the screen check which mod modified him/her last. Often it is another mod overwriting my mod's settings.
The optional files aka 'Add-ons' are 'additional'. They extend the protection system of this mod to other popular NPC mods. They are recommended to use if you have any of the supported mods which for the moment are "Cutting Room Floor" and "Consistent older People".
There won't be any other versions of the main files. I'm not taking requests for add-ons (not enough time) . The ones that exist already cover the biggest mods. The SE patches for "Interesting NPCs" and "Inconsequential NPCs" go live as soon as the corresponding mods have been converted to the SE version of Skyrim.

NPCs are still dying, likely from the fall damage bug. Just went to Radiant Rament and Endarie said her sister died, had to use console to bring Taarie back lol
Protected NPCs shouldn't die from fall damage and it could be one of the main reasons to have a mod like this installed. I'm fairly certain that Taarie is protected in this mod, which means that most likely you have some other NPC mod lower in the load order that is overwriting Taarie's record with a version without the protected flag.
I've made Protect Unique NPCs that functions the same way. Additionally there are a few NPCs that start off as Essential to later be protected as well, made possible through reference aliases. Alternatively you can use Protect your People - PyP - Better NPC Protection SE that flags all protected NPCs through reference aliases ensuring better compatibility with mods that change NPC actor records. Because of the way PyP functions originally it had some minor potential issues, mainly the reason why I made my mod, but I think in the last few updates iMACobra has put in extra effort to eliminate them.
I'm still testing this theory but I'm pretty sure re-saving the esp's in ck fixes infinite load. Just thought I'd let everyone know so this mod doesn't die.

There may be a problem with the new AE and/or conflict with a mod. When installed the game will not start remove it, it starts. Checked it out on min vortex profile with only only three mods, cutting room floor, USSEP, and alternate start; the same thing I think for AE this mod may be dead for AE until it is updated.
Must be an incompatibility issue seeing as there's a comment from 2019 from someone experiencing the same. My guess is that the cutting room floor patch needs updating.
I running Skyrim with 242 mods. Updated all (if new version revealed) and infinite loading screen on startup. I disabled all mods and reenabled one by one! And this mod is why not starting the game. Something not working with new sse 1.5.80. Before 1.5.80 running without problem, and thank you for the mod blattgeist. Maybe need an update.
I can also report an issue similar to this, except it began right after downloading Saints and Seducers. I have around 230 active plugins and received an infinite loading screen. Disabling just this mod's esp's confirmed it as the issue.

Does anyone know a fix for this?
