I have released an alternative to this mod, check it out:
Wait Carriage in Inns

Description

Wait Carriage in Towns is a lightweight addition to the vanilla carriage system aiming to help the players who disable Fast Travel during their playthrough.
My main goal while working on this mod was to develop a complementary transport system without altering the vanilla one in order to avoid any bugs or conflicts.

Now, you can wait for carriages in most towns of Skyrim by activating a bench placed in front of inns. You'll then be able to choose your destination among 3 categories : cities, towns and villages. The journey costs is equal to the default price of Skyrim.
Once the destination is set, your character will sit on the bench and the screen will fade to black. Finally, a waiting time of 1 to 2 hours will be added to the initial travel time as I don't expect drivers to pass through the towns every 5 minutes.

This mod doesn't add benches to all towns or settlements as I wanted the location to have at least an inn (no one would wait x hours in the cold). I did the same for the available destinations. I find it illogical to hire a driver in order to travel to a vampire castle or a very small settlement of 3 inhabitants.

I got the idea of my mod after finding this other one : Carriage Stops
Unfortunately I didn't agree with some choices made by the author (map markers, stops placements, etc). So I decided to create my own mod and share it with those who might need it.

And I'm aware there are already tons of other mods trying to improve or enhance the carriage system. But they add 'too much' for my taste (and some are buggy or incompatible with cities overhauls). My mod is just a simple addition to the vanilla system.

Features :
- Adds benches in front of most small towns inns where you can wait for a driver to take you to any of your chosen destination.

- Compatible with the most well-known cities overhaul mods.
- Uses the vanilla price system to determine the cost.
- Very lightweight script : 1 script running once when you activate a bench.

Additional informations

Install / Uninstall :
This mod can safely be installed whenever you want during your playthrough.
As the script only runs when you activate one of the mod's bench, it might aswell be safe to uninstall at anytime.

Load order :
It doesn't matter. As this doesn't modify any vanilla values or references, you can place it wherever you want in your modlist.

FAQ

Why didn't you add a bench at Dawnstar's inn ?
There is already a ferryman who can transport you to other cities and adding a bench in front of the inn would've required to disable some existing references.

Why didn't you make the price of the journey dependent of the distance between the bench and the chosen destination?
It would've been easily possible but as I don't make any changes to the vanilla carriage price, I want my mod's prices to be coherent with vanilla.
