Bromjunaar Journal

Collecting the Dragon Priest masks is probably my favourite unmarked challenge in the game. But no matter how you're roleplaying your character: a mighty hero out to destroy the remnants of the Dragon Cult, a power-thirsty mage looking to assemble the most powerful magical relics in Skyrim... it's hard to get around the fact that most of the time, the only way your character can find them is by either stumbling across them at random as they explore Skyrim, or by having the benefit of omniscience as a result of your Google-fu.

Well, not anymore. Now, while exploring the ruins of Labyrinthian, you'll stumble across a journal within the temple at Bromjunaar. This journal once belonged to a Breton explorer who came to Skyrim in search of the ancient power of the High Priests of the Dragon Cult, but was foiled by their secrecy and obsession with power. He recorded the most promising leads on the final resting places of Skyrim's ancient overlords, before meeting his own untimely end at the hands of the very men he'd hired to protect him. He surmised that if the masks weren't buried in the ancient capital then they must be interred with the men who bore them in life.

This mod was inspired by Dragon Priest Mask Journal by whickus. As his permissions preclude the possibility of a straight conversion, I've rewritten the journal and placed it in the worldspace myself.

Future Plans/Wish List
  • I have an idea for a similar "guide" to finding the masks on Solstheim in the form of a silent/unmarked "quest" of sorts. This will probably be completed next, and will serve as a template for the future plans I have in store for the mainland's masks.
  • Expand on the lore available regarding the priests and the Dragon Cult. This will likely involve spreading the information currently contained in the journal across multiple notes and messages, akin to what will be available Soon™ for the masks from the Dragonborn DLC.
