I like that we have special request from the courier and that there is a option to occur this randomly. Can you make a update for the dark brotherhood quest in the mcm to spawn randomly too? This would be cool.

      Hi Dodo99,

I'm no longer going to develop / update my Skyrim mods. When you trigger the quest in the MCM menu, it should also be randomly selected though. I'm not sure if I was able to fully understand the question though.

Can anyone recommend any NPC mods that make new named NPCs appear after DB victims (or any named NPC really) die from quests? For example, someone has to run Anoriath's stall, someone has to live in Hert's house, etc...
Otherwise Skyrim gets gradually more empty the more you play and that's just not good.

i used the oldrim version for along time and it was  great. i only wished it had covered a few  more npcs. sadly i don't think it covers much in the db quests. maybe some victims

Will this conflict in any way with Save The Dark Brotherhood + Your Choices Matter DB Expansion?

I would assume no. This mod is mostly a MCM menu and the extra radiant quests are provided through a courier system from the mod (nothing from the characters in DB or the original questlines has been changed).

Thank you so much for this! In my roleplay, I played a high profile infiltration-type assassin, and now I can continue to do that ingame after the emperor's quest ^^

Does this work with Dark Brotherhood For Good Guys? Also would love to see a similar theme, as in a patch to make it more good guy friendly so they fit together for those of us with an intolerable conscience :D.

Oof, from what I gather of how this mod works, it tries to provide more background information on these targets. Unlike the DB main quests, these characters are randomly selected and spawned, and thus it would end up being quite repetitive in providing their own background :(

I really like the premise behind this. It's just seems a little immersive having to boot up the mcm every-time you want to do a quest. If I may make a suggestion. Perhaps do a script where a courier comes after you one week after you complete a special request with the option to turn off in the mcm or have dead drops that randomly generate the letters. similar to notice board mods.

I really like the idea of higher profile targets though. I'll be keeping an eye on this and endorsed.

I believe I could do a weekly trigger to be enabled in the MCM menu. Thank you for the suggestion.

godd idea, and you can make the trigger frequence configurable in mcm, as some people play at low timescale.
thanks for the awesome mod esuriddick it gives life to the darkbrotherhood

I have been focused in other projects of mine (mainly 3D modelling), but I will see if I can pick this mod up again and insert the option to repeat automatically (with possibility of random delays). Due to how the mod was meant to be as less intrusive as possible and I did not set it up to take into account dead drops, this seems to me to be the most flexible way to give this more immersive feel to everyone :)

The new version is up! I currently do not have a save with the DB completed, but let me know if you have any issues with the possibility of adding items to the victims or with getting the special request to trigger, since they share the same timer.

wahooo!!! <3  *issues on my end, unsure why: in MCM I can't check start DB Forever or set % chance for Special Request, they are greyed out. I'm past all DB quests but I'm in the middle of an assassination quest, need to speak with contact.

Concerning the option of starting the DB Forever Quest, it is meant to be greyed out when you are in the middle of one. You can't start multiple ones.

With respect to the other point, there are two conditions for it to be grayed out, which also apply to the button to start the DB Special Request: i) you already have one DB Special Request active; or ii) the DB Sanctuary Repair Quest is not at stage 200 or higher (Skyrim:Where You Hang Your Enemy's Head... - The Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages (UESP)). From what you say, check if the manual trigger for the DB Special Request is not greyed out and active as well, since I just did a quick test and the second condition seems to be verified just fine :)

Would be nice if there was a modular version

Also, as I understand it when Shadowmere "dies," it comes back on its own - in the base game.
Least that is what I read on another mod that specifically chose not to make it essential so this mechanic could still occur

      Hey there.

Modular in what way? Everything in the mod is optional and can be freely activated/deactivated at any given time through the MCM Menu.

To make Shadowmere essential is optional and can be deactivate and activated at any time. Nevertheless, what you say is true as you can see here: https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Shadowmere_(Skyrim) ("Unlike its previous incarnation, Shadowmere can be killed by long falls or in combat. Shadowmere will, however, respawn around ten days later, at the location of death.").

Absolutely love this idea. Personally will endorse. There is only one thing I can think of that would make it the best dark brotherhood post-quest mod to date.

Being the Listener in prior games meant the assassinations done on behalf of Sithis was communicated to the Listener by the Night Mother, who then informed the Speaker. The Speaker then issued the assignments. The only position between the two is the Keeper, who is left to their duties unless the Listener redirects them as instructed by the Night Mother. With that said, I always thought that the bond between the Night Mother and the Listener didn't necessarily involve speaking to the corpse. Perhaps a totem carried by the Listener (0 weight and quest locked in inventory).

This is where a slight change would make the difference in play styles. The message shows up in the players inventory under scrolls or books (quest marker to read the contract scroll). The player can then carry out the contract or summon the ancient assassin courier who receives your orders and disappears to report to Nazeem. (behind the scenes: Nazeem records the contract and issues the contract to one of the initiates. When it is complete you get a percentage of the payment put in to your private chest in your sanctuary chambers.). Basically, once the summoned ancient assassin courier disappears the quest completes and your payment is added to the chest. If the player chooses to do the contract personally, then they do not summon the ancient assassin courier and follow the quest objective. They keep the full payment upon completion.

Glad you enjoy the idea and hope you have lots of fun with it :)

I had to think a lot about what I felt of this suggestion, since it seems nice. However, the goal of the special requests was for the player to be able to have extra fun within the Dark Brotherhood. To be able to reassign it to an NPC would defeat its purpose. In addition, this is not a contract from the Night Mother. These are other contracts that our good ol' Nazir finds about, just as it used to be before the Night Mother chose you as a Listener. Thus, Nazir already decided that you were the best person to carry out this request.

This is a really great idea! I like the cryptic messages from the courier. Do you have any plans to expand on this mod further? I'd love to see more quests in this vein.

This was pretty much all I had thought for the mod really. I didn't want to break anything from the vanilla game and this seemed like a simple yet effective idea of providing the murderer vibe in the end of the Dark Brotherhood
