I had forgotten to eslify the plugin for the new version (1.2) i apologize ! You might need to remove the esp plugin from your data folder if it's still there after installing the esl file available in the misc file section.
The license in there is a safety/precautionary measure, to make it clear these are free-to-use assets, and also for anyone who wishes to use those assets for their own projects,i'll always include it although it won't always be the same license.
Don't forget to thank the 3D Artists whose assets were used if you're going to thank me, i did not make this from scratch :)
I'm not taking anymore requests for the time being and my mods will not receive further updates until i'm done with a project i'm working on.
I'm not taking anymore requests right now sorry, but i'll add it to my todo list and if it's not been done by someone else by the time i'm done with my project then i'll take care of it.
no, lots of mods change the weapon record without updating the mesh. you probably have a mod which alters unique items (like unique items tweaks, reliquary of myth, zim's immersive artifacts etc.) which is loading after this. this mod can't just replace the mesh and have it work because in vanilla, dragonbane doesn't have its own mesh. it uses the blades sword mesh. so you can't replace dragonbane's mesh without replacing all blades swords, unless you use a plugin to add a new model path to the weapon record. but that means this mod will conflict with any mod that alters the dragonbane weapon records (e.g. to increase its damage, add a unique enchantment, etc.) you should use wrye bash or mator smash to resolve this conflict, or resolve it manually with xEdit. it's very easy to resolve the conflict, you just open xEdit and load your whole load order, then find this plugin in the list, open it up, go to the Weapon tab, click one of the dragonbane records, and look for Model. you should see a red colored row labeled Model. you need to drag and drop this mod's Model row into the rightmost mod's Model row. simple enough
just checked xedit and it turns out you were right, the legacy of the dragonborn model was overriding the one for this replacer
however when i try moving moving the model into the rightmost row, i can only copy it overtop of the last mod (that being, copy LotD over MLU). after deploying the changes and whatnot, the model still doesn't load into the game.
Ah i see the conflict with mods like Lotd now, just had the same issue with bolar's oath blade, in this case i think a patch needs to be made but i'm not up to it, mainly because i don't know how to make patches.. yet
If you don't mind you can try the ESPFE plugin i just added in the misc files, so you can move it further down in your load order to let it overwrite other mods but you'll need to start a new game or clean your save after removing the esp.
The model/textures are great. What bothers me is, I never understood why there were Asian/Japanese armor/weapons in a fantasy "Medieval-Viking" world as Skyrim...
All these "Katanas" looks so non-lore friendly to Skyrim. And of course I'm talking about Bethesda, primary. Why they placed Japanese swords into this game?
They have always existed in TES games. They come from the Akaviri which is a different culture and does seem to be heavily inspired by Japanese culture. The sword variation also makes sense when you consider that TES plays on several continents and there is a lot more crossover between the cultures than in medieval and ancient times in the real world.
didn't you play the main quest of skyrim? or oblivion? they both contain direct lore explanations of the akaviri and tsaesci, pretty hard to miss even if you're skipping through all the dialogue
A nice import. Mods like this can easily be flagged as esl for the convenience of the users. I did it myself, though it had to be compacted first. I already have a nice Dragonbane replacer, but I used this sword as a standalone Akaviri Dragonblade instead. Goes well with my dragon kimono =) Hope you import more great models like these in the future.
The golden metallic parts are maybe a bit on the shiny side, I'd have preferred them a bit less shiny. I did have a small issue on the tip of the sword, looks like the light refraction is a bit off, so there's some shade covering the tip. You can see it in some of the screenshots I put up.
Thanks, i'm still working on the lighting/reflections issues but once that's taken care of i'll try to esl flag it as well, i thought some people would prefer to have it as a standalone sword but decided to make it a replacer because it's look kinda similar to the vanilla model + i'm still learning how to use the ck so making a replacer was easier to start with.
Edit: are you using enb in these shots ? It looks way too bright compared to my shots, maybe i should desaturate the golden parts a bit...
No worries, making it standalone for my own part was really easy. Only takes a minute when you're familiar with xEdit.
No ENB or any visual effects at all in my screens, it's all vanilla. I agree that the golden parts are a bit too reflective and saturated. Perhaps making them more smooth and toned down would be preferable. I took a look at the updated sword in another setting, and there was less glare than on my pictures. I think that part of Skyhaven Temple has a light that produces quite some glare. Inside the Sleeping Giant it was less prevalent. However, the gold/yellow is still quite saturated, even when the glare is less present.
Beautiful. I will have to create a standalone version so it can become the main weapon for my next playthough rather than waiting until Sky Haven temple. Many thanks for the lovely work.

I will now lock this thread so i can focus on my other mods, thanks again !
Edit: Done.
What kind of armor in the screenshot?
i doubt another mod is interfering with it since the model is still vanilla, so i must have installed it wrong or something

This mod is now featured on my True Graphics and Immersion List
Many thanks for the lovely work.
