== INTRODUCTION ==
Welcome to the (Un)Official Rewrite now Remake of "Death Alternative: Your Money or Your Life."

What does this mod do differently, you ask?

Well, it wasn't much in terms of changes. But, they went a long way in making things stable. Now, there's honestly too much to count or even remember. Here's what it currently has:



== FEATURES ==

- No more bleedout CTDs (Unless the game accesses Data that isn't implemented)

- ALL Guaranteed Working Scenarios!

- Updated NPC roster to fit SSE Criteria (Restored because it now is unnecessary)

- Slightly reworked Quest Starts to avoid mishaps that could bug or break the game

- Up-to-date Version Check for SKSE and SSE

- (Un)Official Support for "Death Altenative - CAPTURED Revisited"

- Unofficial Support for Skyrim VR!

- Unofficial Support for "Death Alternative - LAL Extension(s)!"



== 4.0.0 and On Changelog: ==

-- THE "Bleeds It" Update -- 5/27/2021
A single hotfix update that now solidifies this mod's final iteration. There is no more known factors I can change.

[ALL VERSIONS]
(psc / pas) - "And stay down!" "But my lumbago --" "GET UP!"
This simply fixes the bleedout script from running cyclical functions that either call upon itself or get trapped in iteration loops.
-- Now it simply calls on the state needed and requests a move on to the next without any conditions trying to confirm or push it towards other directions.
--- This should fix both infinite bleedout bugs and situations where the player dies during ragdoll and cannot enter bleedout to start the scenarios
---- However, this DOES NOT FIX the "Ragdoll first, die later" feature since the Engine REQUIRES THAT ANIMATION FINISH FIRST before resuming scripts.
----- If you want that simply choose a different option for bleedout that doesn't involve Ragdoll. But it'll probably hold less weight when dying.

(esp) - "The Pacifier"
Fixes potential problems which occur as a result of the Pacify and Disengage spells having updated changes, but not updated behavior.
-- This simply fixes the spells from not being able to apply properly due to old settings left behind in their Effects. Now they have proper updates.
--- If you were somehow seeing no visible change but also no INFINITE CHANGE, this probably is the culprit.
---- Now NPCs will properly pacify and disengage for the allotted amount of time, which is extended by 20 more seconds!
----- Use that time wisely because you never know what might happen...

(EVERYTHING) - "It's The Final Update!"
And that's everything. There will be no more major updates in the future. I hope you enjoy the last version that's out.

P.S. If you are updating From 4.0 to 4.2:
-- You can simply disable and re-enable the mod in-game from the MCM menu. Just make sure to Run Manual Quests to ensure all proper content is added.
--- Else, you will need to carefully follow the Installation Procedure highlighted below.



-- THE "I Can't Believe It's Not Updated!" UPDATE -- 5/14/2021
This update is the definitive final major overhaul update which changes just about everything I could touch.

[ALL VERSIONS]
(Other) - "THIS JUST IN!"
A NEW VERSION is out to reflect the many changes amounted inside.
-- Hopefully the jump from 2 Versions is an indication that this update is more than just an update.

(psc / pas) - "The Only Thing Better Is Something Better"
Dynamically Re-reworked and changed the way ALL location scripts reset the player. It now ensures the Player does not get displaced.
-- Although, it cannot prevent which requires the Player to be displaced. Please ensure the preliminary test is passed to properly use this.

(psc / pas) - "Welcome Back Child"
Restores the Temple scenes back to its proper form. Now you can get the cool water-pool healing scene without ending up In The Void or Swimming Inside Nothing!

(pas / psc) - "It's Not Over 'Til I Say It's Over"
Bleedout now allows you to move for your life. Though, it takes some work to get it working.
-- But don't "JUMP" to conclusions. It does work.

(pas / psc) - "Get That Curtain Off Me!"
Severely reduces all the Black Screens and the way Death is shown.
This to me definitely felt like a 2013 mechanic meant to hide the computer's processing. Well not anymore.
-- Anyone running Skyrim nowadays could probably run all of NASA back then.
--- So this change now properly reflects. It also makes Death a little more, poignant...

(esp) - "Stop Being My Friend!"
Ensures that the Pacify Scripts all run for an intended amount of time and don't permanently change NPCs to Passive.
-- Now you can no longer befriend your enemies after they tried so hard to kill you!
--- And all Shonens collectively weeped...

(esp) - "Say That To My Face"
This one honestly almost broke me. Because they had been there SINCE THE VERY START.
-- I'm talking about all the spelling errors, mispronunciations, and yes, continuity errors.
--- The fact they'd been in there for so long and NOT ONCE had been changed irked me to no end.
---- So I finally decided to step up, slap the Dialog and make it sound how it should: Readable.
----- There are grammar changes applied. But don't worry everyone doesn't sound like scholars. They just know when to pause.

(Death Alternative - Live Another Life) - "Mara's Got Nothing On This!"
This mod now supports the LAL Extension. Provided you can get the options to actually appear per the mod's instructions.
REMEMBER: If the scenario fails to run, Daymoyl is not properly set up. Make sure to click "Manually Run Quests" below the Activator.

(Death Alternative - Captured) - "This Isn't Code Geas!"
And now we get to the root of why I stopped developing... The Geas. That Geas. That Darn Geas.
-- I think I have every right to say this after trying to fix it for so long. So here it goes...
--- F*** THAT GEAS!!!
---- Not because it didn't worked. But it did. Too well. EVERY Scenario was overwritten by this one and it REFUSED to let me properly die.
----- On top of that, the Script doesn't even entirely vanish when you do do it right. No matter where you are you still get "0 Cattle Points"
------ And how well do you think Skyrim runs when a script is constantly updating something that's no longer relevant.
------- Oh and hope you don't die. Cause otherwise you do it ALL OVER AGAIN.
-------- So I decided to just cut out the worse part entirely and make it so that script can't even run in the first place
--------- After all, the Vampires talk all arrogant but then act like cowards. So I made their actions speak for themselves.

(Other) - "That's All, Folks!"
There's probably a few more behind-the-scene changes and features I left out, but this changelog is long enough...



== KNOWN BUGS LIST (Yay!) ==

- Bleedout may be buggy at times with ragdoll. It is difficult to fix it outright.


- The Player can get stuck in a stationary state after Black Out in their blood pool

- Should this happen, ensure 2 things:

- Your Player's Scale is not altered from 1.00 when using the command "player.getscale"

- Your Player does not get transported into another dimension when ragdolling

- Your Race does not have "No Knockdown" flag enabled in its Race Record

- Both results mess up weight and physic calculation in the engine, which make the game wrongfully assign behavior.

- Fix the first either by "setscale 1" or finding a prior save that has not been affected.

- A common example is being slingshot into the stratosphere upon ragdoll

- The second requires changing the Race Record in SSEdit or CK.

- To properly change their scale, either edit the Race Height or Player Height with SSEdit or CK.


- Skyrim will retain a black screen for up to an entire minute upon blacking out in some cases.
This is because the engine is calling and running every script and function that each scenario depends on. Some are quicker, some are way slower.

- Should this happen, just remember:
- This mod is no longer from 2013. Just because Pulp Fiction has it, doesn't mean this mod has to. This mod no longer needs that limitation since processors are much MUCH faster.

- If there is no sound or audio, that's where the problem arises.


- The Player may not always be in the right spot (i.e outside cell, cage, etc).
- This should've been properly addressed and accounted for but because it's Skyrim, anything can happen. Just know I assure you, you won't end up "In The Void". But you might enter it...


- Certain NPCs and their scripts in later scenarios will most likely bug out as the same behavior in the original.


- Any content past Act I (Greybeards' Summon) is now polished but still undetermined due to how it was accesssed. If any bugs should arise, this is the primary source. Play at your own risk.
