About this mod

A minimalistic fix for the alchemy-enchanting loop.

Permissions and credits
Bethesda won't let us make Fortify Alchemy potions or Fortify Enchanting enchants, but they didn't realize you can achieve the same effect by combining Fortify Alchemy enchants with Fortify Enchanting potions. Even with an upper bound on how often you can repeat the loop, it's an easy way to make overpowered characters.

To fix it, this mod takes the seven alchemy ingredients with a Fortify Enchanting effect and replaces it with Fortify (Alteration, Conjuration, Destruction, Illusion, Restoration,) chosen with the help of a random number generator. No redundant effects.

The mod's compatible with just about anything, including ingredient overhauls like Lyukyui's fantastic Harvest Overhaul Redone. The only exception is something like ChocolateNoodle's Skyrim Alchemy Fixed, with its own take on the recursion problem.

Compared to SAF (which you should definitely check out,) Non-Recursive Crafting makes an effort to be noninvasive. It makes no changes to Fortify Smithing or Alchemy, doesn't come with extraneous stuff like adjustments to the strength or duration of potions and leaves healthy interactions between crafting skills (like making Fortify Smithing potions) intact. And because Non-Recursive Crafting turns Enchanting into a largely self-reliant skill, it amounts to an endgame nerf - something Skyrim really needs.

Enjoy!
