It was originally uploaded April 1st, 2020, as a joke. The original mod description can be found in the spoiler below.
Skyrim Special Edition is BROKEN. This bug is probably one of the most well known bugs in the game, and yet it's taken until today, April 1st, 2020, for someone to FINALLY release a mod that fixes this game-breaking issue. Frankly, it's stunning that a problem like this even EXISTS without being patched by Bethesda, by the community, or even by a magical wish granting dragon with a love for this 2011 hidden indie gem of a game.
If you're not in the loop, let me explain, I'm talking of course about the INFAMOUS QuitGame bug. I'll go into more detail about what this bug is if you're unaware down below, but it's a bug that has affected almost everyone who has ever played any of the following releases of Skyrim:
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (PC, 2011)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (X360, 2011)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (PS3, 2011)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition (PC, 2013)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition (X360, 2013)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition (PS3, 2013)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition (PC, 2016)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition (XBO, 2016)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition (PS4, 2016)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for Nintendo Switch (Nintendo Switch, 2017)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR (PS4, 2017)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR (PC, 2018)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (PC, 2011)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (X360, 2011)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (PS3, 2011)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition (PC, 2013)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition (X360, 2013)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition (PS3, 2013)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition (XBO, 2016)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition (PS4, 2016)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for Nintendo Switch (Nintendo Switch, 2017)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR (PS4, 2017)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR (PC, 2018)
I hope that in time, I can help to make all of these versions playable, and have sent many confused and angry emails to email addresses that I think belong to Bethesda staff members (or at the very least addresses that should belong to people with very similar sounding names) in an attempt to get this fix to as many people as possible. In the meantime, however, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition (PC 2016) players can enjoy the benefits that this fix provides. What is that benefit you may ask? Back in Oblivion, the "QuitGame" (more commonly known as "qqq" console command) would print out the phrase "Bye." to the player when used. When Skyrim (The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (PC, 2011)) released however, the command no longer displayed its heartfelt message. I am proud to say that I have (through THOUSANDS of hours of reverse engineering work) managed to get that message to appear again.
If you've made it this far, thank you.
tl;dr: This mod brings the "Bye." message back to the QuitGame/qqq console command. Requires SKSE64.
