Candlelight now has (almost) infinite duration, and is toggleable (no scripts needed). On interiors, it will give a nice, warm light akin to that of a torch. The radius is bigger than in vanilla but not too big, to keep that 'dark scary dungeon' feeling (assuming you have mods that darken the dungeons). On exteriors, the light is more green-bluish (this was the best color I could find) and the radius is even bigger to illuminate those dark, terrifying nights (assuming you have mods that darken the nights). Cast it again to dispel it. Dispelling your candlelight won't cost any magicka and is silent. And of course, no ANNOYING BRIGHT BALL is to be found now.
The spell description has been changed to reflect the changes and the magic effect is hidden so it won't clutter your spell menu. Scrolls of candlelight don't have infinite duration and they will always cast the interior version. Since no one ever uses them I felt no need to fiddle with them.
A few users said they wanted to keep the ball (I'll never understand why) so there's a version with the ball now. But FUCK THE BALL.
