Immersive Limited Loot - If you want lots of loot and rewards and treasure THIS MOD ISN'T FOR YOU.

----------------------------------------------------------

Where exactly did that dragon you just killed keep those 450 Septims exactly?
Did that skeever digest that gem with the last NPC that passed its way?
What was that wolf going to purchase from the Riverwood Trader with those few coins?
Who's finger did that slaughterfish bite off to get that ring?
How exactly does an ancient Nordic culture come with gold Septims that didn't even exist at the time?
Can I break into Belethor's merchant store with the lockpicks he just sold me?

WHO CARES RIGHT?!

To quote Farengar Secret-Fire: "No need for tedious hows and whys. I like that. Leave those details to your betters, am I right?"

If, like myself, you have questioned why Bethesda gives almost everything gold (even mudcrabs), then you probably play too much Skyrim and should get
outside more... but the answer is simply you the player are being programmed so that your gaming neuro-transmitter dopamine levels feel rewarded!

It makes no sense as these creatures don't use septims or treasures but dopamine gets released when playing a game and expecting a reward. The gamer is programmed to associate the action with a reward just the same as when Pavlov's dog salivates associating the ring of a bell with food.

"Dopamine plays a role in motivation, and this role is important to understand in the context of game design. Understanding how dopamine motivates can help game designers produce games..." - https://www.learning-theories.com/dopamine-games-motivation.html

Well no more.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The intention of this mod is do away with this design and make loot drop in a more immersive manner by limiting certain NPC actor items in a way that gives a sense of realism to what creatures utilise and carry to make things feel more Lore-Friendly and also add that extra challenge of limited resources - now winning your battle may be the only reward you receive!

The loot limit conditions are based on how likely it is for the NPC to actually utilise and carry their associated loot as below:

1. Animals, Trolls, Spiders, Chaurus, Falmer, Death Hounds, Netches, Werewolf, Werebear and Dragons don't carry Septims or gems (have you seen any of these at the local merchants recently?).***

2. Dragons additionally don't carry weapons or armour - just scales and bones (the acidic bile digestive fluids of a dragon break down its contents to fuel its breath weapon so you wouldn't really find anything of much use... besides a dragon with a weapon or piece of armor is much like a mudcrab with a bicycle).
Note: Mirmulnir still drops Whiterun Guard armour as normal but generic dragons should only drop Dragon Scale and Dragon Bone.

3. Draugr, Dragon Priests, Snow Elves, Falmer and Dwarven constructs don't carry Septims - nor should you find them in their associated chests (ancient Nords never had Septims, these coins simply did not exist at their time).***

4. Urns do not have Septims but gems, rings, potions should not be affected (how do Septims get inside Nordic burial Urns sealed within ancient barrows?).

5. Hagravens, Giants and and Reiklings won't drop Septims (but they may still have them hoarded in their chests).

6. Giants additionally won't drop armour or weapons (they don't use anything that comes in your size).

7. Ghosts won't drop Septims but can drop other items (poltergeists are often connected with psychokinesis and apportation of physical items, Skyrim has its version as telekinesis).***

8. Merchants will not sell lockpicks. Citizens will no longer carry lockpicks. Caravan merchants still have lockpicks.

9. Beings that reside on other planes / dimensions

Imperial Luck and Golden Touch should not increase Septims for any of the above (zero multiplied by whatever is still zero, you can't get more of something that doesn't exist).

Prowler's Profit should work with urns and chests but not animals, trolls, spiders, chaurus or dragons who no longer drop gems.

No loot was added, just removed according to the above conditions.
Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch changes carried forward.

Known Mod Conflicts:

Scarcity SE - Less Loot Mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/8647) restores removed items. If you use it load Immersive Limited Loot after it AND its plugins. I made a patch but in the end I just removed Scarcity altogether.
