About this mod

Simple and intuitive mod that makes potions slightly toxic so you don't want to drink too many in a short period of time. Configurable with MCM.

It becomes too easy to drink two liters of Potions of Minor Healing and fully heal during the split second that bandit chief is bringing his sword down on your head. Even if you have mods that make potions heal over time instead, difficult fights can be trivialized by carrying with you a lifetime supply of potions and playing like a turtle. With this mod however, you have to wise up about your potion usage.

FEATURES
  • Potions are now toxic. Toxicity decreases maximum health, shown by a visual on top of your health bar. Toxicity also reduces the potency of further potions once it hits certain percentages of your original maximum health.
  • Toxicity is a function of the value of the potion. Configure the variables of this function in the MCM.
  • You recover a configurable percentage of your maximum health over time. Sleep to recover much faster.
  • Fortify Health, Cure Disease, and Cure Poison potions are significantly less toxic than others for balance and immersion.
  • Sleep to level up feature from Survival Mode. This is a side effect of using the Survival Mode UI features. You can turn it off in MCM, but you also lose the toxicity indicator.

COMPATIBILITY
  • Compatible with all mods that change or add potions.
  • Cannot be back-ported to LE. Uses SSE-only functions.
  • Incompatible with Creation Club Survival Mode. No patch will be made. Sorry.

RECOMMENDED
  • Crafting Skills Revamped: Rebalances vanilla potions and Alchemy (as well as Smithing and Enchanting). Option to make potions heal over time.
  • Tonics Heal Over Time: A simpler alternative by the same author that simply makes potions heal over time instead.
  • A mod that makes food no longer heal and replaces them with minor buffs. (I'm taking suggestions to put here)
