Agreed, getting some updates to this mod would be dope, like it working with the Anniversary Edition of Skyrim and with openfaced mods for Anniversary Edition, along with some of the immersive clothing mods, still a fun useful mod either way, thanks for making it grimfandang0!
What's the point of desiring to wear both a helmet and a circlet? It's certainly not aesthetics! The only reason I can conceive for wanting it is the desire to stack more enchantments. Why do it this way? Why not attack the issue directly by increasing the number of allowed enchantments per item? I'm not going to name names and sound like a shill, but mods exist that simply increase the number of allowed enchantments (at least one unlimited). I believe that this can be done in a manner that is independent of mods that add new armor so that it works with anything and everything, unlike mods like this which must edit item records.
Probably the fact that circlets in the vanilla game replace helmets? It's common sense to want the helmet and the circlet. There's a lot of people who'd want that. Don't get my logic mixed up with antagonism though. I understand what you're saying and it makes sense but that kind of stuff just doesn't mix with Skyrim. There's no specialized place for multiple enchantments, let alone text space to end up the size of ants if long enough, for it to work and PerMa proved that, not to say it's bad mod though. It's just hard to read stuff sometimes but anyway. It's better left alone and let mods do their work instead. We can only hope for something better in the next upcoming Elder Scrolls, whether its a game feature or mod. Games have their limitations.
Because there are LOTS of mods of custom armours that have helmets, hoods, circlets and hats that can be mixed and matched to get great results that have nothing to do with stacking enchantments. Also the circlet/helm set of enchantments are the most restrictive of the lot if people were trying to exploit stacking enchantments there are a hell of a lot better ways to get better "enchantment stacks" than this mod.
I haven't checked how it affects other helmets yet, but I fixed the Elven Light Helmet, Elven Helmet, & Glass Helmet by disabling the included textures BSA file...
Obviously your post is quite old, but you should know that the Jagged Crown ALREADY allows being worn with circlets in the base game, so if you cannot in your game, it's because of a different mod. Probably UESP or something. This mod doesn't change the Jagged Crown at all because the Jagged Crown doesn't affect the circlet slot by default.
This mod doesn't play nice with nearly every other mod that effects masks. I have tried playing with the load order but no matter what no helm works with any circlet with Hoodless dragon priest masks Mod or Improved dragon priest masks Mod.
It's not supposed to. This one only allows you to wear them with helmets. It modifies the helmets by making them not use the circlet armor slot as well as the headgear slot. Not to put to fine a point on it, but the mod is called "circlets with helmets" and the arch-mage robe is not one.
