maybe a bit late, but the purpose of this mod is to make you chickens more diverse. By randomly assigning them a texture from a set of textures. So in the end, you will see different looking chickens in your game, instead of just on texture for every chicken.
Dynamic Animal Variants SPID does the same thing as this mod, but for a bunch of animals. The difference is, that you cant choose what textures you want in Dynamic Animal Variants. I think the mod uses textures from Bellyaches Animal and Creature Pack. In my mod there are multiple options to choose from. I really like the mihail version for example.
BTW. You can also use both mods together, you just need to disable the distribution of chickens in Dynamic Animal Variants SPID. This can be easily done by placing a ; at the start of the line mentioning chickens in DynamicAnimalVariantsPlus_DISTR.ini. This is also described in more detail on the mods description page.
Because it is not needed anymore for the 2.0 version. SkyTEST is compatible out of the box. Only use the SkyTEST patch if you still use a Diversified Chickens version older than 2.0. Otherwise it will probably break something!
here is a good reference to combs on chickens. Pea combs and other reduced combs and wattles are for breeds that live in cold environments, Look up the Buckeye (Ohio) and Wyandotte (Wisconsin) breeds that were directly created for survival in colder areas. Comb and wattles are subject to frostbite which is a concern and makes the standard chicken in Skyrim possibly improbable.
I want to start by saying I just made the switch from nexus to mod organizer so this could be a major part of the issue
I've got all the files needed, nandos, test files, all the needed skytest chicks. Whenever I enable diversified chickens, I get mostly untextured lilac chickens. Nexus handled the files fine but after switching I can't get it to work anymore. I'm wondering if I should be manually moving the chicken textures? Do I need to pull them from the skytest realistic animals files? I'm not sure where to place them if so. I don't understand why MO2 can't handle the files the way nexus did
Okay, so there are two versions of the mod included in the download. Neither includes any textures. To use the Better Than Nando's version you would need to download the "test file" textures from that mod, under it's miscellaneous files. To use the non-Nando's version you will need to provide your own textures. I recommend the Nando's for easiest set up, plus the textures are great.
I have the same problem, after a fashion. Some textures are not applied, some textures are applied. I have to open the console and resurrect the chicken before the texture gets applied. I'm using the Nandos version and clearly I have that mod so the problem is this mod isn't applying textures when it should.
