About this mod

Allows the use of one single piece of Light/Heavy armour (optionally two), without losing the 'no armour' bonus of the 'Mage Armor' perk.
Ideal for Mage's who wish for more adaptive use of the Mage Armor perk, without breaking the overall balance too greatly.

Originally, the 'Mage Armor' perk wasn't at all flexible.

For example;
Morokei's mask, a light armour piece, is clearly intended to be used by Mage's with its +100% Magicka Regen.
Though, this means that it will negate the respective x100/150/200% perk bonuses of Mage Armor.

There are some other mods that try to tackle this issue;
But none that I found, felt that they kept balance in mind or had my desired flexibility.




Replaces the 'no armour equipped' requirement of all the "Mage Armor" perk's;
With the ability to wear ONE piece of armour, light or heavy, any piece, any slot.
Your choice.
Simple.

(Optionally you can choose to make this TWO pieces of armour, if desired, upon installation.)





I have added Ordinator compatibility upon popular request.
This took much longer than I had anticipated and there may be some things I have missed, as I do not use Ordinator myself.
That being said; after significant trial and error on my part, all requested features appear to be fully working.

This compatibility patch effects:

(X = 1 or 2; depending on which version you chose to install.)

Alteration:
Mage Armor (Ranks 1-3)

Mage Armor (3) - Protection spells like Stoneflesh are 100/150/200% stronger if not wearing [more than x amount of] armor.

Energy Shield

Geomancer - If wearing robes and no [more than x amount of] armor, you take 30% less damage from
attacks while charging or concentrating on a spell.

Geomancer

Energy Shield - If wearing robes and no [more than x amount of] armor, reduces incoming attack and
elemental damage by 35% but you lose Magicka equal to the amount of
Health lost. The damage reduction gradually diminishes as Magicka falls
below half. The energy shield is disabled when your hands are lowered.

Robe of the Magi - If wearing robes and no [more than x amount of] armor, Destruction spells are 30% more powerful.




Ordinator Users Note:

The requirement to wear robes in the chest slot; for the perks "Energy Shield", "Geomancer" & "Robes of the Magi", remains unchanged as set by the author of Ordinator.

Meaning; 
You will still be required to wear robes in the chest slot, in order for you to receive the benefit of those three perks.

What my mod does allow;
Is for extra light or heavy armour to be worn in the Head; Hands or Feet slot(s) of your choice; without the bonus effects breaking; from the aforementioned perks.

I have no intention of removing this 'ClothingChest' requirement;
I intentionally made this mod to keep a relative sense of balance in place. I believe removing this requirement goes against that statement; as well as staying true to the perks' original creator's intent, and, 'the meaning' of said perks. As for example, the perk named "Robes of the Magi" loses all meaning of its namesake, if you don't even need to be wearing robes.
