I like the idea of this. But I don't think it's the right voice. Goes too far the other direction. When she says "Hear me and obey", it doesn't have much gravitas or authority to it at all.
Honestly it wasn't the voice that was the biggest problem with all of Meridia's voice lines, it was the VOLUME, and the more times I do this quest series the more it occurs to me that this mod might actually make it worse.
Indeed. Could someone PLEASE make a version of this that lowers the volume? It is currently the LOUDEST voice in the game, except for maybe when you are fighting multiple dragons. I love the Aussie voice actress, great accent =) ... but the ridiculous gain just blows out my eardrums. Thanks and cheers.
The voice is SIGNIFICANTLY louder than the rest of the game volume. I do enjoy the VA, she did great. Though, she does say "the constance of morals" instead of "the constance of mortals" which made me chuckle. If you ever upload a quieter version, I would be grateful. She's so much louder than the rest of the game's sound balance.
Jean Gilpin may have a grating voice, but she is channeling Hera from Clash of the Titans. She gives amazing emphasis on words and conveys real emotion and majesty. Sometimes a prettier voice isn't actually better.
Jean Gilpin's voice is perfect for this. Can't imagine Meridia any other way. Surprised to see this mod exists at all, though I guess what are mods for, if not to change the game to what we like. But why would anyone expect daedra to sound sweet and smooth? You've especially nailed it when you said her voice conveys real majesty. First playthrough hearing Molag Bal and Meridia was incredible. Excellent choices for voice actors.
Also knew I recognized her voice back from Age of Mythology when she voiced Amanra.
Thank you! I'm so happy to see that someone agrees. My favorite was Hircine though. He brings so much "Lord of the Hunt". He makes Hircine loveable and you want to worship him. Btw, you should look into a mod called Daedric Voices or somesuch. You can actually get bits of their dialogue at random times. It's especially great when you're slaughtering everyone with Mehrune's Razor and he utters his evil chuckle. Wintersun Faiths also adds SO MUCH to rping religion.
Actor is breathing all over their mic, the sound quality is different for every clip, the actor lacks emotion, and the mod is absolutely deafening. I like being able to hear the actor but I shouldn't be able to hear her tongue sloshing around in her mouth every time she gets ready to speak. Even with my system volume turned down to 2% I can hear her words clearly with my headset off sitting on the opposite side of the room (Not a joke or an exaggeration). The other things I can get past as the actor does have a nice voice, but this mod needs so serious audio rebalancing or a slider I can adjust in-game. Maybe, I got too wordy with this, it's 2AM and my heart damn near jumped out of my chest when my eardrums got blasted by this mod.
I LOVE THIS!!!! I have avoided the Meridia quest for years just because she comes across as a hateful evil Bit Cha. Damned Daedra always just assuming you're dying to do anything for them... With the gentler voice and kinder choice of words I just might go and do that quest for once. Thank you!
The fact that there is absolutely NO preview at all for the dialogue edits version, not on video, not even a post containing the text of the altered lines is an epic fail. The fact that I would have to install that version of the mod and then record the lines myself is utterly unreasonable. Therefore I cannot in good faith recommend this mod.
