Good Day! While I find this mod to be nearly essential, I have a problem with it. I use Vortex to manage my mods. When I check the “Flags” column in the “Plugin” section of Vortex, I find that this particular mod Is flagged with an “Incompatible plugin” warning. Double-clicking the warning symbol causes a side-bar to slide open from the right side of the screen. Within the side-bar are several titled notes about the plugin. In "this" case the note titled “Revision” has an orange highlighted paragraph stating:
This plugin was created for the original Skyrim and may be incompatible with Skyrim Special Edition. This can cause unforseen problems during gameplay.
I run more than 400 mods in my game. I cannot justify using mods that have the potential of crashing my game and causing me to have to spend days or weeks debugging the whole thing. I have been there and done that. No more! I will be deleting and un-endorsing this mod. I will attempt to check my messages at nexus for any updated information regarding this mod in the future.
Thank you for your endeavors within the glorious “PC Master Race Universe”!
bro just open it as an active file in SSE CK and re-save it (don't even have to make any changes). for some reason it's a commonly missed step in porting mods but that will update it to the correct form ID.
Works like torch, you can burn people with bash, use with drop torch mod lets you drop endless torches, I did not find it craft able, not sure where to find these besides console commands, if you drop from inventory when equiped it will drop and light the area, you can move the dropped lantern to a table and such, I will add these to tavern tables. I will try to add this item id to the drop torch mod and crafting. am using this as recommended below (kudos sent).
If you are modding for realism skip wearable lanterns. I have used many lanterns and you can not wear a lantern ever. They are insanely hot. It is even difficult to walk with one, you must carry it away from your body and to the side because of all the heat. Even candles are hard to walk with.
Hell, even if you're not modding for realism, you should skip Wearable Lanterns. For some odd reason, it tends to cause crashes in world maps that aren't mainland Skyrim...
HOW in Talos' name did you manage to get this plugin in a form 40? I've seen plenty of form 43's from oldrim... and maybe several other form 40's, dismiss summons and enchanting freedom. Probably the reason my game is crashing.
as long as it works, there is no issue but for Bash patch, just update the Form from 40 to 44 using Xedit and apply script Update records form version then just edit the line FV_Set = 43; to 44 then save and ok. script will do its thing. save and exit like usual. Walla! no more complaints bashpatch.
I love these lanterns! This in combo with the Wearable Lanterns mod!? Gives me that creepy horror survival feel from when Death was hunting you in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, while delving deep into Draugr ruins. SO MUCH FUN!
So, I just tried downloading this and the wearable lanterns mod and I ran across an issue that I managed to fix which could be useful for someone else so I'll mention it here. What happened was that whenever I tried to equip/unequip the lantern my character wouldn't move in addition to my left arm being stuck when unequipping. If anyone else runs into a similar problem, I fixed it by changing the useable lanter to be later in the load order than the wearable lanterns.
