I wish: a book to skip Blades related quests by straight up failing current Blades-affiliated quests (such as A Blade in the Dark, Diplomatic Immunity, or a Cornered Rat) and starting Throat of the World after killing either Delphine or Esbern. Still can't skip Season Unending though since if you took the path you have to finish civil war which allow trapping of Odahviing without question.
Also the essential flag and the trigger above is only removed after Horn of Jurgen Windcaller.
I can provide some insight on this logic, if you're cool with the word wall below.
While I won't comment on whether killing Paarthurnax is an evil act or not, it's certainly a dick move. Paarthurnax, who was born with the desire to destroy and enslave much like we're born with a desire to create more of us, has gone on to lead the most peaceful organization in Skyrim, has helped stop the end of the world and in doing so actively opposed his former master and brother Alduin, to the point of engaging in battle with him when offered a turncoat opportunity, and been an all-around good guy. The reason people like Paarthurnax more is that he's proven himself a valuable ally to the Dragonborn and among other things acted in an overall civil manner, whereas Delphine is an arrogant, bossy Knight Templar whose sole motivation for killing Paarthurnax is that thousands of years before anyone she's ever known was born, Paarthurnax was evil. Meanwhile, Delphine's only meaningful contribution to the Dragonborn's quest is providing the knowledge that Alduin was defeated using a Shout - knowledge that's possible to deduce without her help, by the way. (Although there's no in-game way to skip her quest arc, clues as to how Alduin was defeated can be found in the emblems on the 7,000 steps. These emblems would be all the Dragonborn really needs to have Arngeir help out with the rest.) It doesn't help Delphine's case that the benefits she uses to extort the Dragonborn into slaying Paarthurnax (membership of the Blades includes radiant quests, a quest to be able to acquire a temporary dragon-killing buff, and the ability to give your companions Blade equipment) aren't anything to write home about, and even if the Greybeards' help (radiant quests for Word Wall locations) isn't any better, at least the Greybeards aren't wangrods about it.
Again, apologies for the wall of text. On that note, I find this mod extremely helpful. :D Many thanks, AVolkoff!
I get what you're saying and agree with it for the most part. But it doesn't explain why Delphine deserves death. Because she's less useful?Because her only exposure to dragons has been to either see them kill people or to read about how they killed people, thus she falls back on that. And since when do murderous atrocities have a 'time limit' as to when they aren't bad anymore? Or only matter if they happen to people you know?
In this game you can murder regular people who aren't even annoying and bossy. You can kill extremely nice people. The logic of Bethesda is truly the most worrying of all, right? Chill.
Paarthunax Stop killing and dedicated the rest of his life to house arrest(staying atop the throat of the world) and community serve(see below). This happened during the Merethic Era 2500 years before the first era, the first era lasted 2920 years, the second era lasted 896 years, the third era lasted 433 years and skyrim takes place 201 years after the third era. So in total paarthunax severed 6950 years on top of that mountain plus at the end of sky rim he then dedicated the rest of his life to convincing the rest of the dragons to do what he did. This is a fitting punishment if i ever heard one. 6950+ years of punishment.
While delphine wants to take revenge for people that lived 7000 years before her. That's like you taking revenge for some general in Sumer without taking in other factors. The only reason she give to be a judge, jury and executioner is because the atrocities are still written down and because some stupid oath of an organization that is basically dead told her she must murder him. She isn't even willing to help you do this. Its not your oath its hers. Her oath also binds her to you the dragon born to serve the dragon born. You are there leader. You should have the power to tell them to forget the stupid oath but because her and Esbern are so dragon killing obsessed they can't see this. Killing either one is wrong as far as am concerned she and esbern are tring to murder him(attempted murder). If they are trying to be a vigilante If anything you should be able to take justice into your own hands and do the same to them.
Look. you don't have to like it or not. Don't do anything to them and let them set up there all alone. That's what I done. I like Paarthunax. He served his time and helped the Dragonborn. I don't like Delphine because she took the dang horn after I worked hard to get it. Just don't judge the way others play the game. It's just a game. We all chose the way we want to do it. Sometimes I'm good and Sometimes I'm Bad. Depending on my day in my real life. LOL
Hello Has anyone tried using this on skyrim , to see if it works ? , I know some will work from sse to skyrim ... I have a kill-able serana mod, I would like to pair it with this
will this break the game? i'm already at the end of the questline "Paarthurnax" and I plan to just add this mod and kill them now in sky haven temple. since they're not involved in any quests after this, will it be okay?
Hello I'm always on look out for mods like this, and actually came here to see if someone would be able to back port this to skyrim, but mightn't need to , as my game seems to start just fine , with this enabled, ?
Hello AVolkoff I'm so glad I found this mod, I've been looking for mods or mod that either tells delphine to shut it and take a hike, or do away with her, I also use parthunax dilemma mod, and not sure if its a line from vanilla or mod, but when you go to retrieve the horn and she's taken it , so you go get it back from I just use the line , " i'm just here for the horn" and then leave , she's " you'll be back " and with this mod, I will indeed.... I'd actually to see perhaps an extension of this , and hand delphine over to the thalmore, when you meet the thalmore in riften rat-ways by saying you know where she is, and make a time n place , trick delpine into following you ?
The blade's are gone when I get to that part but I to would like to take out the DB,TG . I don't steal and I don't kill for fun so I never play them any way . Thanks for the mod
This was just a quick hack in response to a reddit post asking for it. I will be making it work with quests a lot better soon, since this isn't the finished version.

Killing Paarthunax, who has helped murder and enslave hundreds of innocent people= Evil
Killing Delphine because she's annoying and bossy= Good
The logic of some is worrying.
