I'd recommend using NPC Stat Rescaler v1.1.0 (24254), it's a zEdit script that allows you to tweak a number of variables, including racial stats. I use it for that, as well as to remove NPC health scaling

This mod is causing CTDs when loading a saved game. I was able to narrow this down by only having this mod installed.

Are you referring to loading a previous save only? How does it affect things in a fresh game?

Yes even starting a fresh game. Getting past Helgen. Saving and quiting. Try to reload the save and I get CTDs.

This is really odd, and concerning. How frequently do these occur? Is it within a reasonable limit, or is it closer to being game-breaking?

Relatively often. Though sometimes earlier saved games load fine. I tested with an 'unmodded' with just core things like SSE Engine Fixes, Unofficial patch. And it still occurred. Though when it first occurred I had a decently heavy list: Ordinator, Apocalypse, Summermyst, and a mod known as SAAL (Smart Automatic Attribute Leveling). I tried disabling those mods thinking there was a bad conflict, but I still got CTDs. I then disabled Skyrace while keeping those mods and it loaded fine.

I should also note, starting up a game with Alternate Start, then saving and immediately quiting. Then trying to load the save works fine, its not until I play about an hourish in do I see my saves not loading.

Considering how the mod only makes a few small edits to the game, it's really odd that this is occurring, and I have no clue why. I will have to restrict downloads on this mod until any form of potential solution has been made.

I was having similar issues and realized it was Bashed/Merged patches causing the issue. Make sure to deselect SkyraceSE.esp when creating either patch. Hope this helps!

Whenever I used SSEEdit to make a merged patch, and SkyRaceSE.esp was selected, I wasn't able to load my test save. Excluding the esp when making the patch solved the issue.

Looks like another great mod, looking forward to testing it out. Keep up the great work my friend.

So an Imperial must spend at least eight levels on Stamina just to be able to wear a full set of Iron Armor with shield, weapon not included? Umm, okay.

Yes, it makes a lot of sense that someone would need quite a bit of physical exercise before being able to effectively wear heavy weapons and armour.

But we're talking about the entry-level armour set here. I just think the encumbrance changes are a bit too restrictive. Pretty much forces people to go with clothing or light armor and one-handed weapons at the start of the game or use the Steed stone forever, and even then it will be a hassle to level skills like alchemy or enchanting because you'll be overencumbered if you pick up ten ingredients or a few soul gems on top of your equipment.

I can see how you find the vanilla system unimmersive, with people regularly sprinting around carrying the equivalent of small houses on their backs, I just think one point of carry weight per level of stamina goes too far in the other direction compared to the weights of items you absolutely need to carry around just to regularly play the game. But it's your mod, so if you like the inconvenience of having to run back home constantly whenever you pick up two Deer Hides, who am I to argue. I'm approaching this from a gameplay-centered point of view, while you seem to value realism, so I guess we just have different perspectives on this.

We do have different perspectives indeed. The idea behind this, as well as the previous mods I've made, is that most people who seek themselves to modding already have played the game many times over. I want mods that really make the game difficult, harsh, punishing and realistic. With such mods, it's still possible to win the game, but it's not something people should ever expect to accomplish.

But that's the thing. I love genuine difficulty, like enemies with multiple immunities, enemies that one-shot you, enemies that are super fast and outrun you, enemies that have actually smart group A.I., no or very little health regeneration between fights (which this mod does in a fine way), and so on. I just don't think overly harsh encumbrance restrictions offer this kind of difficulty, for two reasons.

Firstly, they just make some playstyles outright inferior or unplayable when taken to such an extreme that no character can realistically use heavy equipment for the first twenty levels at least. Really the only viable builds left to play are the robe-wearing Bound Bow Stealth Archer and some sorts of pure mages, because all other builds have too little inventory space to even use the weakest versions of the equipment that they absolutely need to even do anything at all.

Secondly, even for those builds that aren't very dependent on equipment at all, all this does is increase inconvenience. If you need to run back and forth between the dungeon and your home multiple times just to loot the boss chest completely, that isn't difficult. It's just annoying and a waste of time.

Again, I do understand your wish for a more difficult experience, I just don't think the means by which you're trying to obtain it are entirely efficient or worth the unwanted side-effects. Your mileage may vary, of course.

I do see your point, and I am not saying it is wrong. However, as mentioned above, you do have more of a pure gameplay perspective in mind here, whilst I am focusing more on forcing the player into a roleplay scenario.

In regards to the different playstyles, some will indeed be inferior to others. Melee should be the simplest form, essentially just needing protective armour and a weapon to bash with. But such a playstyle shouldn't let you do much else. Your character is just a brute. A more stealthy character can earn more advantages, but will also require more skill, stealth and cunning to use them effectively. A mage should be far more powerful than any average person, but also much, much more rare.

Normally, a typical fantasy adventurer (e.g. Aragorn or Jon Snow) would not be travelling in full steel plate armour at all times. To become the equivalent in Skyrim, just skip the helmet, go for a few leather pieces, and you suddenly have a much more affordable weight for your armour.

In regards to the topic of boss fights and loot, we once again return to the hardcore argument. You're not supposed to beat the boss. It's possible of course, but not something you should expect succeeding with. Beating a boss should be the result of long training and much skill, not something to do as a natural part of the gameplay progression. Similarly, if you find an item you really like, take it, but don't expect to haul loads of items home. If you are willing to return to a dungeon several times to bring back items in such a way, you have already abandoned the immersive roleplay aspect, and instead turned the game into a grind.

The problem with your playstyles analysis is that none of your changes, and especially not the encumbrance changes, have the effect of making mages vastly more powerful than stealthy bois and brutes. The only thing they can do better is carry stuff, because they don't have to devote 90% of their carry weight to their equipment.

A normal, typical fantasy adventurer would also not have to worry about armour skills when choosing their armour, but again, that is more of a gameplay thing. But then again, a normal medieval full-body plate armour didn't weigh as absurdly much as the armours in Skyrim do, nor did swords and axes. Item weights in Skyrim are all over the place. If you want any form of realism, you'd have to start by overhauling those, I think.

My previous argument about the chest looting wasn't predicated on it being a boss chest; just take two regular chests if you want, and you have the same average loot weight. Again, I see how being unable to carry five hundred health potions into every fight makes bosses a good bit more difficult, but then it would be better to limit potion use to a fixed number per battle, or a fixed number inbetween rests, instead of making the character unable to carry anything anywhere. You could achieve that fairly easily with a light script that counts potion uses and starts adding negative side effects after a certain number, for example. This would be quite immersive because overdosing on meds also tends to be unhealthy in the real world. Anyway, a system like this would be much more fun to use than just being told "lol you can't expect to be able to carry two greatswords alongside anything else". Also, apart from potions and maybe scrolls, I really don't see how encumbrance restrictions make boss fights any more difficult.

As for the immersive roleplay aspect of looting dungeons, I think it's quite understandable for a poor sod who stumbles across a chest to want to sell its content for profit, if nothing else. "Dude, an Ebony Helmet? That s#*! is rare, think of all the mead that can buy me." That's easily worth another trip from a roleplaying perspective, it's just very dull in actual gameplay.

Bro dont worry , this mod is a great combination with Realistic Capacity mod , all the armor u wear and weapon u equip will weight nothing , except the torso armor will weight 50% when u put it on , even work with visible favorite gear man :3

Try this amazing SkyRace mod here with Realistic Capacity , True Realistic Item Weights and Skyrim uncapper ini , look for a hardcore or vanilla style ini then look into the last part , it show how many carry weight u get everytime u choose either HP MP or SP , u can scale it down to like 1 weight per hp and 2 weight per stamina for example, that way this mod will be very balance through out the game even to level 100 ;)
EDIT : also use convenient horse so they can carry ur dungeon loot :D

Yo love your mod , but i think u should add the recommend to use realistic capacity mod to make it work better with ur mod and maybe also True Realistic Item Weights SS so ur mod can pair better with the harsh carry weight :3
