WHY?

Like a few other long-term Requiem players, I've found myself drawn to older versions of the mod recently - 1.7 in particular, as it is still from long enough back in the mod's history to retain a lot of the mod's fundamental design from its early incarnations, while benefiting from some QOL improvements not found in even older versions (an MCM being the big one). Also, without later Requiem's patcher requirements, Requiem 1.7 can be ported easily to SSE.

This patch actually started as part of a bigger project I was working on to rebalance and rework some Requiem 1.7 mechanics, but as I was working on it I realized this would probably benefit more people as a standalone (I am still working on that rebalance/rework, but real life hasn't given me a lot of time to devote to modding lately...)

WHAT DOES THIS PATCH DO?

It forwards USSEP changes where appropriate (occasionally USSEP and Requiem edit the same thing for different reasons; in such cases I have almost always prioritized Requiem's intentions).

It also fixes a few issues in the Requiem plugin itself that I could find, including some that were fixed in later versions of Requiem. These include, but are not limited to (since I was an idiot and didn't take thorough notes while I was making this...)

- Tidying up spell tome vendor lists
- Fixing Khajit speed boost so it stacks with other magic/alchemy speed buffs as intended
- Undid all the pointless "Use as Chargen" edits made to random NPCs. We have RaceMenu now.

SO HOW DO I INSTALL THIS?

This patch is designed for Requiem 1.7. No more, no less. It will likely not work with any version - too many changes.
Find this on the downloads page for Requiem - The Roleplaying Overhaul on Skyrim LE Nexus.

The process for porting LE mods to SSE is well-documented, so I'm not going to explain it again here.

But, basically, Requiem 1.7 is a "straightforward" mod, you need only to save the plugin using the new CK, and run the Asset Optimizer tool on the installation directory. As you would do for any other self-ported mod.

This patch also requires USSEP, obviously.

LOAD ORDER?

Place basically right after Requiem.esp.

Probably best to let any other Requiem patches you are using overwrite.

OTHER NOTES ABOUT REQUIEM 1.7, PATCHES, AND LOAD ORDER

If you use Live Another Life, you will need to place this .esp AFTER Requiem.esp in order to avoid infinite load-screen/crash when starting a game.

Most newer Requiem patches from Patch Central will not really work with 1.7 - but the Live Another Life one is fine (have tested this myself)

So your load order should look like:

...
Requiem.esp
Requiem - Classic Update.esp (this mod)
Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp
Requiem - Live Another Life.esp

If, like me, you use VioLens, this can be placed AFTER Requiem.esp. No patch is needed.
