    Version 2.0 (ESPFE) available!
I've decided to convert all my mods to ESPFE (ESL-flagged ESP) versions wherever possible. This means these mods will no longer take up a slot in your load order. Please follow the instructions below if you wish to update during a running game. If you're starting a new game, just install and enjoy.

I've also decided to only offer BSA versions from now on. If you need or want a version with loose files, download the Bethesda Archive Extractor and just extract the files from the BSA.

To update during a running game:

    • While in the game, create a Full Save (Not a Quick Save).
    • Quit your game to desktop.
    • Disable the old version of NPC Makeover - Female Edition in your mod manager.
    • Restart your game.
    • The game will tell you that the OPs NPC Makeover - Female Edition.esp is missing and ask if you wish to continue. Just hit Enter (should automatically be on Yes).
    • Create another Full Save (NOT a Quick Save).
    • Quit the game to desktop.
    • Enable the new version of NPC Makeover - Female Edition.
    • Start the game.
    • Create another Full Save.
    • Reload the last save you just created.
    • DONE!

I bet if this GEM of a mod was updated just a small bit..enough to bring it to the recently updated list..more will find it.

Yeah, it's generally difficult for mods like this to get recognized. OTOH, I just released two more makeover mods, one for Vampires, the other for Witches and Necromancers, and my other mods (including this one) are linked at the bottom of the description, so you never know... But thanks for the kind words. I sure appreciate it!

Thanks again! It's nice to hear that every now and then. Have you tried my Dragonborn Powers? I've found it very useful.

Does this rely on KSHairdos.esp as a master, or is it enough to have the files from the mod? I have KS Hairdos merged into an appearance/character creation mod merge for my own use so the esp isn't in my load order.

No, I'm afraid it has KSHairdos.esp as a master file. Maybe you can merge this mod in?

EDIT: You could try to create an empty KSHairdos.esp file. That might work. You could probably even flag it as ESL.

Hi everyone! I hope someone with right knowledge would find this post eventually.

Thing is, this mod relies on KS Hairdos SSE (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6817). I just found out that there is a MARVELOUS version of this mod with physics - KS Hairdos - HDT SMP (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/31300).

Unfortunately, OP NPC Makeover wouldn't launch on SMP version of the mod. Does anybody know how to cheat around this nonsence, preferably using Vortex?

    Thanks!

I'm afraid the HDT - SMP version of KS Hairdos is standalone (says so in the description) and wasn't created by the KS Hairdos owner. You can definitely have both the normal and the SMP version active at the same time, but for my mod to work, you absolutely require the normal version.

Hi, Pete. As a fellow adventurer in the quicksands of NPC modding (I'm far from professional level) , I would like to share with you some impressions about this craft in general, and your work in particular. On the one hand, you start with some advantages: you have a clear aesthetic concept and the skills to express it. Your orcs, for example, are beautiful. On the other hand, as you already mentioned, you may be suffering from a lack of tools. If that's the case, RaceMenu or Enhanced Character Edit could fulfill all your needs; I suggest you give them a try. Also, try all the skin mods you find. Some of them have much better normal maps than vanilla, which allow for better looking elder, elves, etc. The bigger your assets arsenal is, the better.
As for the user's response, this is my humble suggestion: read every comment and take what you can use, but always, always remain true to your vision. We don't need poor imitations of Bijin; what we are interested in are new perspectives, like OregonPete's. And if someone goes too far on criticism, nevermind; answer with perfect courtesy and move on. It's not your job to please everyone.
Thank you for your mod, and take care.

Thank you very much for your comment, Focalsep, and your suggestions. Sorry I didn't see it sooner. Regarding skin, I've created the mod so it will use whatever skin and/or body the player is currently using. That has advantages and disadvantages. I may try further alterations down the road, but as you know, this kind of modding takes a lot of time, which I simply don't have at the moment. But again, many thanks. I really appreciate the encouragement.

Does these change female bandits and vampires too? Just asking.

No, only the named NPCs are changed, and the female orcs. Just to be clear, it contains all named female NPCs from all the DLCs.

I'm not sure why this mod hasn't received more downloads. I guess it's just personal preference, but I still use this mod rather than the other mods around. I just like it better.

Why "female edition" when it's transsexual edition? All of them definitely traps.

This is a very good start on what could be an exceptional mod. I currently use A Rose in the Snow, Ladies of Solitude, Ladies of Whiterun, Bijin, Improved Bards, Pandorables, and HogMaws female NPC replacers in that order. I find the faces in A Rose in the Snow to be just variations on a few common faces, not unique faces such as in the other female replacer mods that I use. You have avoided that problem. However, as mentioned previously, some of the faces look like dolls rather than humans. Also, it seems that all of the females are frowning. Would a faint smile here and there be possible.

Don't get discouraged by criticism. It took Pandorable and HogMaws many versions before their mods look as they do today. This is a good start.

Hey Saber1982, thanks for posting, but could you explain what you mean with "transsexual"? All the NPCs I modified are female.

Hi Rogdonip, thanks for the constructive comment. I'm afraid the only tool I have is the Creation Kit. I'm sure other NPC modders have better tools, but that's kinda what I'm stuck with, so I'm not sure how to give them better textures (i.e. regarding the "doll"-faces). If you have any suggestions for tools or utilities, I'm open to them.

Regarding frowns, have you looked through all the images? In general, the NPCs will look according to their base disposition and the current situation. Some of them are actually smiling, some are more contemplative, others seem to be in a serious mood or are possibly just having a bad day. LOL

I hate to be negative, but these girls looks like they are dolls in a store window. Their faces looking so plastic.
