Version 1.0
Remapped input keys to match the Dvorak keyboard layout.
I’ve always been disappointed with Skyrim’s (and Fallout’s) support of alternate keyboard layouts. Yeah, it’s better than some; at least it doesn’t force you into using a QWERTY layout, or—even worse—almost work but refuse to recognize non-alpha keys as input, so [A] / [O] / [E] lets you move left / back / right, but you CAN’T MOVE FORWARD FOR NO GOOD REASON.* Ahem. Sorry; got distracted there. Anyways, the keys actually sent to the game have always worked right, so you can, e.g., type your character’s name without switching mental gears, but the on-screen prompts still always displayed the QWERTY key.
Until now. I stumbled across the key mapping file whilst desperately searching for some way—any way—of allowing Unicode characters that I know are in the font to display in-game (still no dice on that, so if anyone has suggestions…). The prompts work well everywhere except dialogs (see screenshots); still walking through interface files (and SKSE for any potential workarounds) to figure out where exactly that goes awry, but I figured I’d at least put out this simple fix to at least give Dvorak gamers—all five of us—some relief.
* IIRC, Fable 3, for those who are curious. Though there are certainly other offenders.
