Updated to ESL and resolved some minor issues with permission of the original author.

Permissions and credits
Changelogs
This is  just a small update of Chuckg's Armor Rating Mod to use Form 44 and solve some minor integration issues.
The enchantment itself wasn't touched in any way. It works as intended and is a nicely balanced.
CK and SSEEdit were used to make some minor changes:
- ESP resaved to use form 44 (was still using Oldrim-form 43).
- Enchanted robes now standalone, so the unenchanted versions are back for enchanting.
- You can find them ingame at some places, buy the blue version from Farengar and some other vendors, or craft the black version.
- ESL-version and german translation provided.

Please be cautious if switching from ESP to ESL. Be sure to take off all items with this enchantment ingame and make a save before overwriting ESP with ESL-flagged one, or You may get stuck wilth an increased armor rating!

Uploaded with Chuckg's permission, all credits go to him and the guys mentioned in his credits!
Endorsements disabled - if you want to endorse, please just hop over to the original mod and endorse that one!
Below Chuckg's Original Description - some points are obsolete due to the robes beeing standalone now.

Description
===========
This mod adds an enchantment effect called "Protection" that increases the base armor rating of the article of clothing or armor its applied to.

Location
========
The vanilla Black Mage Robes and Blue Mage Robes have been changed to a 100-pt Protection enchantment, so finding and disenchanting one of these will give you the effect. Since the vanilla robes themselves have been changed, the altered robes should show up everywhere in loot lists that they showed up before. Anise, at "Anise's Cabin" across the river from the Guardian Stones, is a guaranteed drop of Blue Mage Robes and there's an enchanting station right in her basement for you to use.

Alternately, you can open up the console and type "player.additem C5D11 1" to give yourself a set of enchanted Black Mage Robes.

Although the robes in-game have a strength of 100, the base enchantment strength for purposes of enchanting the object yourself has been reduced to 50.

A bug was discovered that prevented the enchantment from being used; the enchantment slot keywords have been reset to allow the Protection enchantment to be enchanted to any apparel slot.

Details
=======
This enchantment should be very useful to enchant your robes with if you're going pure mage, but don't want to be recasting an Alteration buff every 60 seconds. If you've fully maxed-out your Enchanting with all the relevant perks and using a Grand Soul Gem, it should produce a value of +125 armor rating at skill 100.

Manual Install (if not using NMM or MO)
=======
1. Extract the files to a temporary location.
2. Copy "armorratingenchantment.esp" to (install folder)\Skyrim\Data\
3. Start Skyrim Launcher, click 'Data Files', place a checkmark beside "armorratingenchantment.esp".

Uninstall
=========
1. Start Skyrim Launcher, click Data Files, uncheck "armorratingenchantment.esp".
2. Delete "armorratingenchantment.esp" from your Data folder.

Incompatibility
===============
This mod is incompatible with anything that alters the enchantment on the enchanted Blue Mage Robes or Black Mage Robes.

History
=======
1.0 -- 08/31/2014 - Initial release.
1.0a -- 09/01/2014 - Optional 50 point robe version.
1.1 -- Base enchantment strength reduced to 50 while robes still remain at 100; bug that prevented enchantment from being used on apparel slots fixed.
