About this mod

Mara's Respite is a customizable, lore-friendly player home just outside of Riften. Ideal for the solo adventurer, those looking for a place to go with that special someone, or even those who like to travel in a group.

Changelogs
Mara's Respite is a small home that was originally built by the Temple of Mara as a honeymoon destination for newly weds. Well a honeymoon destination for those on a budget at least. Unfortunately, the outbreak of the civil war caused the number of weddings being performed at the temple to drop dramatically. The home sat unused until Maramal decided to sell the home in order to raise money to help those affected by the war.

You can acquire the key to Mara's Respite at the Temple of Mara for the measly sum of 8000 gold. Once the home is yours you'll be able to upgrade it as you wish. All you'll need is some building materials, all of which can be acquired/produced around the property. Be aware, however, building the upgrades takes time. So if you're using mods that make Skyrim a game of survival (iNeed, Frostfall, etc...) you may want to adjust your mod settings as these upgrades can take up to 24 in-game hours.

Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions compatibility: To make the house compatible with the Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions mod, you must have expanded the main home and built the Hearthfire upgrade.

Future Update: I will be updating this mod in the near future to fix an issue with the Armor Mannequins unequiping items upon cell reset. This will be corrected in version 1.3.

Features:
  • Room for up to 4 followers (Note: If you build the Hearthfire Upgrade, you'll only have room for 2 followers)
  • Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions compatible
  • Horse Stable (Horse should spawn in the stable when you fast travel to the home)
  • Outdoor lighting that follows the day/night cycle
  • Underground Spring with Auto-Strip
  • Toggle-able fire places
Storage
  • 19-Assorted Weapon/Shield Displays
  • 4- Armor Mannequins
  • 7-Functioning Book Shelves with room for 239 books
  • Lots of safe storage
(NOTE: If the mannequins appear off of their stands, simply add or remove an item from their inventory and they should return
to their designated spot).

Crafting
  • Armor Bench
  • Grinding Wheel
  • Forge
  • Smelter
  • Alchemy Stations
  • Enchanting Station
  • 13 Planters (2 indoors/11 outdoors)

Compatibility:
This mod should be with compatible with most mods so long as they don't modify the same cell as Mara's Respite or the Temple of Mara.

Installation Requirements:
Official Hearthfire DLC
Official Dawnguard DLC
Official Dragonborn DLC

Author Notes:
If you have any suggestions on how I may improve this mod please let me know. I'm especially interested in knowing if the materials needed for building the upgrades should be modified(i.e. More materials, different materials, etc...). I'm also interested in knowing if you think the bookshelves in the first floor display room should be removed and replaced with additional displays.
