    NOTICE ABOUT TITLE SCREEN INFINITE LOADING ISSUE

    It has been determined that residual references to a removed redundant package on Aventus Aretino in other mods' USSEP compatibility patches is the cause for the recent spate of Infinite Loading Screen problems associated with the 4.1.8+ updates. Though related to the change, the root cause is an unresolved reference error in USSEP compatibility solutions in other mods. If you are familiar with xEdit usage, go to formID 14132 to get to Aventus Aretino, and remove the unresolved reference error in Aventus's AI package list subrecord in whatever mods have overrides on that form.</p>
    <p>I need a list of mods affected, so I can alert them to the change. Post mods I have not yet listed. So far, I have notified the following mods:

    * TK Children
    * RS Children (FIXED)
    * Simple Children (User-created ESPFE fix module linked in mod page's comments)
    * Killable Children
    * Axe's RS Children Mod
    * Improved Adoptions
    * Immersive Weapon Integration (FIXED)

    There has been a rash of people demanding we provide copies of USSEP for outdated versions of the game, specifically 1.5.39. Please stop asking us to do this. We do not support outdated copies of the game under any circumstances and we NEVER have. Update your games and you'll eliminate the problem.

    Now then. 4 things:

    1. 1.5.39 is the version most commonly used by pirates. You raise our suspicions whenever this specific version is being asked for.
    2. Required means REQUIRED. End of story.
    3. Take your anti-CC and anti-Bethesda hatemongering back to the 76 forums and leave us out of it.
    4. Asking me about this in a PM will result in me simply deleting said PM without an answer. You already have the answer here and that's not going to change because you PM'd me.

    Any further posts on this subject will result in immediate deletion and loss of access to the comments AND the download. We're tired of it. DROP THE SUBJECT.

    We are aware that Skyrim VR for PC has been released. Bethesda has made it clear that the VR versions of the game do not support the use of mods. As a result, this mod will not be supported for anyone attempting to use it on a VR version of the game. You do so at your own risk and any incompatibilities, breakages, or other issues are entirely out of our control. Take note that even if Bethesda later changes their mind on this, VR equipment is too expensive to justify the purchase just for the sake of making sure the mod works with it. Also, the data files on the VR version are not identical so we cannot guarantee compatibility with any of it.

    Please direct all issues with VR here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/16768 Any posts in our thread will be removed and any persistent violators will be blocked and possibly reported to Nexus staff depending on how serious we think it is.

    Folks, don't post requests here for help with illegally jailbroken console systems. Your posts will be deleted without a response. If you attempt to repost the same question you will be reported to staff for it.

    For obvious reasons we only support legal copies of the game and the systems it's played on and cannot help you with your problems.

    Starting to get why other mod authors have a wall of stickies about stuff like this now, but:

    This mod thread is not a general troubleshooting area. We are here to provide support for the use of USSEP in your game, not to provide general support for every tangentially related thing in your games. We have been noticing lately that these types of posts coming here are leading people to the false conclusion that this patch is responsible for those problems and then they tell others elsewhere and all context is lost. This ends now.

    From now on, any post not having something directly to do with the USSEP itself is not permitted here. Go and use the general forums for your general troubleshooting. Nexus has plenty of people who frequent those areas, and so does Reddit. Please go and use those. There are also a number of mod support chat rooms on Discord you could use as well.

    Posts violating this will be locked, removed, and the posters possibly blocked as well.

    Not sure if this is a vanilla game bug or not, but came across this weird mesh issue in Solsteim in the Riekling camp -- it looks to have been a Riekling construct, but not sure if it is due to other mods:

      Went back and got a bit more detail on this object, and I see there was something USSEP did regarding Elk Trophies in v4.12:
      "File paths for the bear trophy and elk trophy were incorrect, causing both to show up invisible. (Bug #23667, Bug #23178)"

      Not sure if this Elk Head in Solsteim is related to the same issue, but it doesn't seem to be coming from any mods. Here is the reference info:
      MountedMaleElk.nif
      Base Form ID 000cf264
      Ref Form ID 04035b80
      Base Defined in Skyrim.esm
      Base Last Changed in Skyrim.esm
      Ref defined in Dragonborn.esm
      Ref last changed in Dragonborn.esm

      I do have USSEP installed so not sure if this is something that should appear as fixed as of 4.12.

      I've looked into this and the 2 bugs you're referencing are for specific forms in Hearthfire that were pointing to the wrong asset path in the .esp file. They have no affect on the copy of the object that got used for the Dragonborn DLC.

      The base object being used here is WallMountedElkMale_Snow which looks perfectly fine in the CK and in-game on our end. Since the tool you used didn't reveal the reference as being altered by anything and the base object wasn't even touched by the DLC, the only two conclusions left are that you've installed a mesh replacer of some sort that has gone screwy, or it's an ENB bug that Boris needs to fix.

      Thanks Arthmoor. After testing with the ENB turned off, I think I can rule it out (though it prompted me to upgrade to the latest version), and will try disabling some of the more likely candidates. I'll test again on my next build from scratch.

      The tool I used to get the info on the object was More Informative Console - interesting that it reports the object as MountedMaleElk, not WallMountedElkMale_Snow.

      WallMountedElkMale_Snow is just a base object reference to the mesh that enables the snow shader on it. That's how most of the snow covered stuff works in the game.

    Hi folks,

    Great mod. Is there anywhere I can find changelogs? After recently updating USSEP I started getting dark face on Sybille Stentor and other random vampires. First, I know this isn't USSEP's fault. The issue is actually happening when the WICO USSEP patch esp is active or installed (which hasn't been updated in a eon). I've compared the files in sedit and can't find the conflict. Did the update touch Sybille and vampires? Trying to see if I can make my own patch for WICO to square things.

    Thanks,

    Hello, during my playtrough i discovered that some of my unfinished quests (House of Horrors for example) are disappearing from my journal. I dont know if is something with SkyUI or is a bug from the valilla game that decided to show up. Is someone facing the same issue?

      That's neither a bug with SkyUI nor a bug in the vanilla game that those quests would be vanishing. The only one the vanilla game does that with (that I can recall off hand) is for Paarthurnax.

    hey..idk if anyone else has had this problem before but...for some reason the female skeleton got kinda borked...it's only really noticeable when you jump... the mesh for the armpit area on any and all armors stretches as if its stuck to the underside of the arm!...it got so bad for me in my 120+ hour playthrough that I scrapped it and went vanilla...only for vanilla to not work without USSEP...so I installed USSEP and its still not fixing...I play as a Khajiit mostly but I tried Bosmer and Dunmer and it's still doing it...but when I tried a male Khajiit it never showed up and worked perfectly!...I tried getting XPMSSE as well to fix it and all that did was make stuff confusing...IDK if I can even play like this...its really bothering me and even a full purge of all mods and a full uninstall/delete everything everywhere filewise/reinstall clean as a whistle...did not fix it...I wanted to try rolling back to a prior version of USSEP to try that out...but nothing worked...does anyone here know what I can do to fix this?

      You haven't been entirely clear as to what your specific issue is but USSEP does not alter the skeleton mesh for NPCs. So of course it being there or not being there would have no effect on a problem with that.

      You could try searching for a video how to do a full clean of the game , i use mod organizer 2 , weird that vanilla doesnt work without ussep , it should , sounds like a mod that requires ussep is still alive over there (it could be another issue i just tried to help)

      Yes, but the main question is :
      Why do you ask ?

      It corrects spelling mistakes and it corrects Adrianna Avenici's Race.
      Can't see why that could be a problem ?

      Yes. There is a retro script to handle new fixes that are not naturally retroactive. Occasionally, a change will not be retroactive under any circumstance and will only take effect on a brand-new game started from "new game" on the main menu. They are denoted with [NR] on the change log and are actually rather rare.

      I have 605 mods and no issues with USSEP that I'm aware of.

      You have a conflict somewhere. Some older mods don't carry over USSEP changes. Make sure your mods are all updated. Check for mods that require USSEP patches too. Use LOOT.

      If none of the above works then you might want to start testing one by one till you find which is causing the conflict.

      Take my advice with a grain of salt cause I'm stoopid.

      I had infinite main menu loading after the recent update. I read that a similar issue occurred for some last year when USSEP was updated, and the cause then was any mod relating to children, such as RS overhaul. If you have that or any mod that changes children then disable it/them and try again. Remarkably, it worked for me. Not trying to say it's the same issue as last year, as on a technical level I would have no clue about that, but it's interesting nonetheless.

      The ESM for RSChildren gets sorted to load before USSEP, the issue was with an NPC record in the RSChildren ESP. LOOT is working as intended.

      On the description page it says this;

      Installation Requirements

      Skyrim Special Edition 1.5.97 or greater.

      After installing the mods, the following general load order needs to be followed:

      Skyrim.esm
      Update.esm
      Dawnguard.esm
      Hearthfires.esm
      Dragonborn.esm
      Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp
      [The rest of your mods]

      For getting load order set with other mods loaded, please use LOOT. It will provide you a solid starting point for everything that you can then tweak as needed.

      ^^We're told to put USSEP directly after the native plugins, but we're also told to use LOOT which puts RS Children before USSEP... Who do we listen to, Arthmoor or LOOT? It does say the above is the general loading order. So, I'm assuming RS Children is a exception to the general rule? Just trying to get clarification because y'all know more than me. Thanks fellas.

      As per LOOT's description page:

      LOOT is intended to make using mods easier, and mod users should still possess a working knowledge of mod load ordering.

      And knowledge of mod load ordering says that RSChildren.esm should load after the USSEP.

      As per that very line you qouted:
      It will provide you a solid starting point for everything that you can then tweak as needed.

      LOOT is not the be-all end-all mod ordering system. The final say should always be the user. That is the crux of why we do not support the use of Vortex, and call it a LOOT shell and not a mod manager with respect to BGS games. LOOT has been misconfigured to place RSChildren.esm before USSEP. It's not the first time we've heard of it.

      What do they call the people who sell bridges.. A guy already bought the Boston Bridge in Boston Mass, and Old London Bridge. He reassembled the Old London bridge, you know, that one; that was falling down; and moved it brick by stone to Texas.
      The guy lived just up the road from the G. Wub yah Bushes family. They didn't believe that the land they gave that old ranch hands family was any good because the cows wouldn't graze on it. No reason they could figure out. That old ranch hand found out what was keeping the herd away.

      He struck oil on the property they gave him. You know, as a kind gesture for his familie's long service to their family.

      I remember reading about that at the time. British opinion was split between "How dare they sell our historical monuments to some American." and "What an idiot to buy a pile of old stones. That wasn't even the original, its been replaced over and over since Roman times."

      And as we've pointed out numerous times, that's due to a conflict from another mod that's altering Aringoth. He has no black face bugs when using USSEP by itself. Either some other mod has undone his facegen data back to default, or it's including broken facegen files in its archive - and broken facegen files will NOT show up in xEdit or any other record conflict analysis.

      BTW, please don't attempt to keep pressing this when you've got your explanation already. THIS IS NOT A PATCH ISSUE.

      I see you mention MO2 usage. This may be a symptom of MO2 unpacking BSAs. As per our own description page in red text:

      DO NOT extract the contents of the BSA file into your Data folder as loose files, or let your mod manager perform an equivalent function on the contents of the file. Doing so will cause things to load in the wrong order and break the game. Skyrim is intended to load a BSA alongside it's ESM/ESP file. Circumventing this causes issues which I will not provide support for. If you insist on going against this advice, you will receive no support for the problems you generate as a result of this.

    Got a minor thing I stumbled upon the other day: 000571A2 <LItemArmorGauntletsHeavyBest> starts with Steel at level 1, whereas the other armor slots (000571A5 <LItemArmorHelmetHeavyBest> and 0005719C <LItemArmorBootsHeavyBest>) start with Iron or Banded Iron (0005719F <LItemArmorCuirassHeavyBest> and 000571A8 <LItemArmorShieldHeavyBest>). The entry expected for Steel at level 6 seems absent (but present elsewhere).
