About this mod

A streamline, flexible, and ultra-compatible Hunger/Thirst/Sleep mod. Being hungry/thirsty/tired does not drop you immediately, but decreases your 'Vitality'. At low vitality, your Health/Magicka/Stamina regeneration stops, but at high vitality, you can regenerate Health/Magicka/Stamina quickly through a lesser power. Followers are also supported.

is a simplistic Hunger, Thirst, and Sleep mod. It is designed around keeping your character and followers healthy in the long term, rather than worrying about food every other moment in the game. With this mod, being hungry, thirsty, or tired does not immediately affect your character of followers, instead, it reduces their 'Vitality'. Once your vitality gets too low, then your Health, Magicka, and Stamina will completely stop regenerating. However you can always use the added
'Vigor' lesser power to burn your Vitality in exchange for completely regenerating your Health, Magicka, and Stamina almost immediately.

Your Hunger, Thirst, and Sleep status are stored as simple integer values, which can be seen in the MCM. They will all decrease by 1 per in-game
hour, and can be replenished by eating, drinking, and sleeping. With the default settings, you need to eat 3 weight of food, drink 3 weight of water, and sleep 8 hours a day to keep your status stable. Your Vitality will change depending on your Hunger, Thirst, and Sleep status. It will increase or decrease by the sum of your status divided by 10, per in-game hour. So, even if you are slightly hungry and thirsty, your Vitality can still remain high if you are well-rested. Vampires don't require food or drink, but also can't recover their vitality by eating and drinking. Feeding as a werewolf can sate you.

Your Vitality is also stored as a simple integer value, and is capped based on your level, by default at 3 points per level. Again, if your Vitality drops below zero, all regeneration stops. As a benefit to high Vitality, and as a counter to low Vitality, the 'Vigor' lesser power is added to your character. If you use the Vigor power, it will increase your Magicka and Stamina regeneration rates dramatically, basically recovering them to full in an instant if your character isn't debilitated by a different mod. The catch, is the Vigor power will burn through your Vitality quickly, by default it will decrease it by 1 every 5 seconds, and once cast, the Vigor power won't dispel until combat has ended or your Vitality has reached 0. If your Vitality is at or below 0, you can still use the Vigor power to regenerate your Magicka and Stamina, though it will only last for one interval, 5 seconds by default, and will further decrease your Vitality.

All Food and Drink from other mods should be automatically compatible if used by the player, followers are a different story, see below. This mod determines whether an object is food or drink based purely on its 'Use Sound', if it uses the potion drink sound, then it is considered a drink, this includes actual potions; if it uses the soup drink sound, then it is considered a soup, which replenishes both hunger and thirst; if it uses a different sound, then it is considered food. This should allow any and all food mods to be compatible, minus some exploits with mods that add food portions. Also, this mod adds a Water item that can be created at a cooking station for no cost, so your character doesn't have to be an alcoholic with this mod to keep hydrated.

Up to 5 followers can be supported by this mod, and have their Vitality, Hunger, Thirst, and Sleep tracked independently, which can be seen in the MCM. Their
Vitality and status will change like your own, the only differences is how they replenish their status, and how they use Vigor. Your followers will not eat or drink, unless they are relaxing, ie waiting. If you tell them to sit down at an inn, and let them rest for a few hours, then they will eat some of the food and drink in their pack, and will rest enough to recover their Sleep status. Followers do not need to be sleeping to recover their Sleep status. While they are currently following you, you will have to provide food and drink to them. If you dismiss your followers, then they will find their own food and drink, and will quickly recover their status. Within a few days they should be at full Vitality. Followers will not be able to use mod-added foods, due to some technical limitations. (I currently search for a list of vanilla items in the followers inventory, the alternative is checking every single item in their pack to see if they can eat it, every single hour, which is a big script load.) If you just give them some vanilla bread, meat, or soup; and some water or mead, then they'll be sated. As of version 2.0, you can simply give them food to eat through a dialogue options.

Your followers will also make use of the Vigor power. If they go below 50% Health, then they will trigger it, and will start losing Vitality while recovering Magicka and Stamina. They will stop using it once they reach 0 Vitality, but won't push themselves further, so their Vitality shouldn't go below 0 unless you don't provide them with food and rest.
