hey so is it only supposed to use 4 shaders? it only installs bloom, blooming hdp, delc sharpen, and lightroom. just wondering because the description says it should have mxao, dof, finesharp, levels, luma sharpen, and vibrance as well. nice preset though, forgot about blooming hdr, havnt seen it in a while : ) edit: i think the answer was in the comments actually, nvm.
The classic preset looks FANTASTIC with my current rig (Rustic weathers and the performance version of the Truth ENB). Many thanks and great, great work!
After many hours of trying lots of presets, I found this very minimalistic and lightweight reshade. Changes are subtle but fine-tuned. It has no performance cost and works great with the weather mod I use (Cathedral) I agree with recent positive comments; this preset is gold. TBH I think this is what the original game should look like. I prefer the classic version over 2021 because it stays true to the vanilla look by touching less effect.
And I hear ye, that's why I mean the Classic version to stay up there. In recent iterations I've tried to bring up some effects that are widely used by enb and, quite frankly, expected by recent (good) lighting mods such as Lux. Though balanced for its intended feel, it may look a bit hardcore for those not looking for lower overall brightness and contrast - it helps a lot when dealing with enb complex lights, preventing it from saturating and achieving a good, realistic atmosphere with point light sources and shadows, but without enb it may prove challenging for normal gameplay - hence my attempt to introduce some bloom and adaptation.
However, it's become clear to me that these bloom and adaptation effects need to be very subtle and limited in their impact, in order for the preset to remain useable with any weather and lighting mod combo, day and night (at least without some tweaking) - so, I agree with what seems like the majority opinion here, the classic version is the most universal and "safest" option.
Using Cathedral weathers. Best reshade out there for anyone not wanting to use a enb. The lighting at night actually brings out the colors of the sky and everything is not pitch dark like in other reshades. My search is finally over!
Just wanted to let you know that I'm new to all this and just started modding. I found a lot of reshades and ENB stuff and most of it just made me annoyed that it changed too much of the look. After 3 hours of looking, this was the one I chose. Thank you.
I managed to get it to work, using reshade below ver 5 has legacy... other quesiton.. is there only suppose to be four options ticked for each ini file? When i pull up the reshade I see only four out of the 10+ options ticked for both the 2021 and classic?
Yep, those are the preset's configuration, all you should need. Unticked shaders don't get in the way, but you can tick and tweak them to your taste if you like.
Hi when i do the install options and tick the packages, I tick quint and astray and see all the options there for those. However, with legacy/standard effects it doesnt give me any option. I dont see finesharp, levels, luma sharpen and vibrance. It just goes directly to finish. When I go ingame and load the ini, I dont see any of those options in the ini listing from legacy/standard effects. Is it already active or did it not install it?
These instructions need to be updated to the latest ReShade. Those shaders are still there but the repo has been recurrently reorganized. Also, as of now it is possible, during installation, to point to the ini you download from this page and the installer will automatically select the needed shaders for you. I haven't tried it yet, but here's a suggestion you might try.
I tried it, yes it installs it automatically however, the legacy was not installed. I looked it up, it seems legacy was removed in latest reshade veri.
So,I just created a detailed tutorial video on how to install a Reshade. I`ve done this, since many of my downloaders dont know how to do so. I experienced that media is easier to consume than reading an instruction,so I thought I might share this video on different Reshades. Maybe you (the Mod creator) wants to pin it or add it to video section, for easier access :) If you dont like the video, feel free to delete this post :)
I never had to do it but found this and I'm pretty sure you could solve your problem by reassigning your key bindings in the configuration file https://reshade.me/forum/general-discussion/5639-changing-keybiding-to-start-tutorial
Maybe you have your home button assigned to something else in game? I also use this little tool to get the keycodes for my keyboard, should work for any region: https://keycode.info
I downloaded the Pirate shaders zip but ReShade won't load either of them in-game, Bloom and Lumasharpen. Gives an error that they don't load. Does anyone know of a fix?
I finally got around to updating the preset for 2021, so no more workaround is needed. To be honest, given what this preset aims to accomplish, even the classic preset is still fine to use, but I added a more dynamic lighting in the 2021 version, and more feature rich shaders that I set up to achieve the same result as in previous versions (plus dynamic lighting) but that users can also tweak more to their fashion.

Great work, the game looks a lot sharper with your mod:)!
